It has FOTY written all over it but I'd be inclined to pick Miguel to do what Williams did to Tony, a la outspeed and outpunch him over 12 hard fought rounds.
Yeah definantly, I think thats the general oppinion. That's my first outlook on this fight. FOTY potential, possibley great action, but Tony has to prepare for a mobile Cotto.

I didn't like Cotto's "new" style on Saturday. He was basically just sparring and oiling his offensive tools on Gomez. The difference in skill and general boxing ability was too apparent. Cotto came out like a rabid pitbull and quickly realised Gomez had nothing that could hurt him. I've never seen him visibly angry like that either, focused yes, sheer ferocity like that, never... What the heck did Gomez say that pissed him off so much?

On the Cintron fight, Kermit has a single weapon and no defense. His general boxing ability is very limited. He needs to go back to the drawing board. I'd change trainers, get a latino trainer on him, ditch Manny Steward. As for Tony, the dude is a juggernaut. He walks through bombs, pretty stout SOB. He has great ability to get some mean combinations off when he has you hurt too. However, the difference in speed between him and Cotto is too much IMHO.

Cintron had an amazingly ****ty and lazy jab. Cotto's jab snaps and throws you off your game. I don't think Cotto will trade blows with Tony in the inside game, he's going to backpedal and be snapping that jab at Tony all night. "Tenderize" is the word. Probably around the 7-8th he'll see some slow down effect on Tony and mix up a body shot to further slow him down. One thing is for sure, Tony is not getting stopped. I just don't see it unless Cotto can land that perfect body shot. Otherwise, I see a UD.

I was actually entertained by Cotto's flashiness in the ring. It was almost refreshing to see a different side of him. I guess I never realized the speed Cotto had either. He looked fast as ****. After watching that fight I think Cotto could give Mayweather more problems than I originally would have given him credit for. Now I'm not even comparing Gomez to Mayweather, but what I am saying is that Cotto has speed, power and the ability to box. Do I think Mayweather still wins? Yes, I do, but not without Cotto giving him one of his toughest fights to date, and a Mayweather victory will not be a blow out UD either. The fans will make this fight and I don't think Cotto needs to call Mayweather out. He's said he'll fight anyone and anyone who thinks he's bull****ting is plain wrong. Cotto will beat Margarito and leave Mayweather with no choice but to defend his ego and fight him. I'm calling it like I see it.

            Cotto vs. Margarito

I am hoping this fight happens and I am not sold that it will. I don't think either is going to run, but if Mayweather wants two pay days he better snap up Cotto now! Margarito will KO Cotto. I like both Cotto and Margarito and they are both great fighters and great punchers, but Cotto's chin is too suspect. Even given Cotto's claim of being drained at 140 doesn't convince me he has a solid chin. Margarito will swarm Cotto and force him to fight toe to toe... should be an epic battle! I can't wait to see if this one goes forward!

He was draining himself to make weight at 140 which made him weak. He's taken flush shots from plenty of people at 147 and taken them well. While I don't rule out a good solid punch may hurt Cotto as one would anyone, I certainly don't believe he has a glass jaw either.
