Taylor: Felix Trinidad or Brian Vera Next

I can understand Taylor wanting an easy fight coming off Pavlik I+II. A fight with Tito doesn't present too much risk for Taylor IMO.

I think Tito WAS a great fighter. Now he's shot, and should retire. If Taylor's gonna fight one of the two I hope Vera gets the fight.

Taylor's next opponent doesn't want to pose any major threat, but they must consider somebody who can give him a test. I just cannot see that in Vera.

Also, any ideas what weight his next fight will be at?

was up with all this tito is shot crap....he is not shot.....hell mosley is still fighting.....his last win was against a shot vargas but tito is still fighting top fighters no matter what.......he would have posted wins if he was coming back and fighting easy tune ups but he aint about that......ill put poinst on tito if his fight with taylor gets made.....pm me too with a side bet$$$.....

I believe that Trinidad should not fight any more, but if he wants to we can't stop him. However, if seriously coming back into the mix, he should take 2-3 easier fights to get his fighting toughness back. He's NOT "shot" in my opinion, although on the other side of the hil. but he could stay there for a while.

Although I think he could beat Taylor, or give him a hell of a fight, it's too tough a fight for him, after such a long layoff. He fights best when his spirits are HIGH. King should leave him alone....but he won't.

Vera is just an unskilled swinger, with double-sized "heart", not likely to get any better, and if they keep throwing him in with straight punchers he won't last.

Even in his very recent victory, he took far too much punishment. HE shouldn't be fighting at even that level.

He could be shuffling around in years to come, not knowing where he is. The promoters and matchmakers'd use up as many Veras as they could get.

Lacy would have to look a lot better than he did against Manfredo if he is to have a chance of even making it competitive against Taylor. I think he's had enough time to recover from him shoulder surgery, I'd definitely watch it.

I don't see the problem with Taylor taking a tune-up fight with Vera. He's fought only the best opposition during the past 3-4 years and deserves an 'easy fight' to make himself look good and build back some confidence...

jeez, the money fight is trinidad, obviously, but neither guys are guys that taylor shouldn't be fighting, trinidad isnt on the level anymore, although i thought he looked better than i expected against jones. trinidad would be better i guess, money wise, name wise, exposure wise, but nothing really to gain in moving forward. and same with vera, not the money or the exposure, but it's not really a move forward either. although vera would be game, i think it would be a easy win, especially after vera beat lee, taylor would love to ko vera to show up steward......
but all in all, i guess it would be better for taylor to take an not so tough, high intensity fight, i'm sure his last two fights with pavlik have been an overload, if taylor is going to make a run at it again, he needs to take the approach that got him to the title in the first place, fight smaller guys and have dibella and hbo protect him some more............... there is still a lot for them to squeeze out of taylor still. the taylor well isnt dried up...........
