Coming off 2 losses the last thing you want is a potential 3rd beating. A tune up is needed....but Vera?!?! WTF?

Indeed it was. I fully support him fighting Vera. It's a perfect comeback oppnenot actually. Though Trinidad works too, but I could see Taylor doing more things wrong agains Trinidad then I could Vera.

My thoughts exactly. Brian Vera? That same guy Jaidon Codrington was bouncing off the ropes at will for two rounds? All his win over Andy Lee proved is that you can't trust Manny Stewart to be honest about any of his fighters. Tito needs to retire and Taylor needs to fight Roy Jones.

Unless it's on some low level show, I'm not for it. Jermain Taylor has put on too many lackluster performances on HBO for me to support this joke of a fight against Vera. I'm good with the Tito fight on HBO because Tito is an all time great. But Vera is no where near that. He beat one overhyped prospect and got smacked around for two rounds by another overhyped prospect. IMHO, he hasn't earned the right to fight on HBO.

I pay $11 month for HBO and I want to feel like that money is going to some significant fights. Taylor-Vera is not anything near a significant fight.

He'd beat them both, but he'd absolutely crush Brian Vera.

In all honesty, Taylor fought Hopkins, Hopkins, Wright, Ouma, Spinks, Pavlik, Pavlik. That's a damn impressive run, whether he won convincingly or not. Obviously a Tito fight would be nice, but if he wants to fight Vera, so be it.

I'm so ****ing sick of Trinidad. Goddamn it he was always one dimensional but at least when he was in his prime he had the power, speed and focus to negate it, and he was in a natural weight division. I'm not interested in seeing Tito lose anymore. He should have stayed in retirement after the Hopkins fight, with a great 40-1(?) record. He has virtually no chance against Taylor, I say. Taylor is too good a boxer, he can punch with the right hand too and Tito just doesn't have it anymore like he used to.

I can understand Taylor wanting an easy fight coming off Pavlik I+II. A fight with Tito doesn't present too much risk for Taylor IMO.

I think Tito WAS a great fighter. Now he's shot, and should retire. If Taylor's gonna fight one of the two I hope Vera gets the fight.

He should face Tito. It's the much bigger fight and he could probably win by KO.
