a shift i don't agree with by the way...... i think he should've come at marquez harder even if it means getting hit with more counters. can't let a counterpuncher like juan rest and pick his spots imo.

manny is a brawler who comes at you hard , fast and at all times. that's his greatest strength. look what happened to hamed when the "GREAT" emmanuel steward got his hands on him and tried to make him more of a boxer. technically better doesn't necessarily always mean BETTER.

But Pacquiao is more disciplined and willing to learn than Hamed was. Also more naturally athletic, allowing him to pick up quickly. I think the better boxing skills would make Pacquiao more explosive and accurate. Especially if he develops a hard right hook to the body. And it also preserves his body by getting hit less and allow him to extend his career at least 2 more years than it would have with his caveman style.

developing better skills is definitely a help but for me as long as it doesn't change his style. i think he's still in his prime so why not change when he can't fight that style anymore. i think like manny hamed's unpredictably made him a better fighter and he lost that unpredictably by being more orthodox. manny can have some success with a more boxing style because he'll stil have the power but i say switch to more of a boxing style when he needs to.
