I see what you talking about...but you should have said Hagler vs Leonard. a boxer vs a boxer\puncher. A fight for the ages!!!

[QUOTE=R.I.P. Corrales;3341588]Floyd thinks he's always going to be as good and as sought out as he is now. He's going to keep on not fighting welterweights, and avoiding big fights, and turning down fighters. Then before he knows it he's going to be in Winky Wrights position, strugling to get big name fighters to fight him, trying to get big fights because of who he was. The attitude Floyd has now and the way he choses to behave himself, the future top fighters are going to love nothing more but to turn down a used up older Floyd, when it's Floyd trying to ask them for fights, trying to get a few last big money fights. Im a big fan of both Mayweather and Cotto, but Cotto has more class in his pinky nail then mayweather gots in his whole body. IMO.[/QUOTE

JESUS CHRIST ON CRUTCHES MAN!!! None of that is going to happen. Floyd wants to retire! He wants to retire with De La Hoya money! He doesn't care bout all of that anymore. He paid his dues to boxing and now it's time for boxing to pay him. If you listen to what he says behind the rhetoric and bull**** bragging you'd know this.

He will no doubt lose because his chin is suspect and he's slow as hell. Floyd has indeed fought a Cotto before just like he hold Hatton, I've fought many Ricky Hattons and the results are always the same. It's about the money man, and Cotto knows it!
I disagree, I believe if Cotto went the same route as Mayweather and fought De La Hoya and Hatton, those fights would make huge money. I just think Cotto wants to rule the welterweight devision, and fighting those guys wont get that done. I think Cotto has just as big a fan base as Floyd has, do a poll and i bet it's close to 50/50.

I think its absolutely a good attitude to have.

At the end of the day Cotto is unbeaten, he's already beaten some top fighters (Mosley, Quintana, Judah, Malignaggi, Torres, Corley), he's a pound-for-pounder and the welterweight division isn't exactly lacking in talent.

Cotto and Mayweather is the Big One at 147. If Mayweathers more interested in a pointless fare against cash cow De La Hoya again so be it. It's not Cotto's problem. The fans want this fight. In the meantime Cotto can beat Gomez at the weekend, then he's got a tough fight against the Cintron-Marg winner. Who knows after that? There's a lot of big fights out there. Mayorga, Williams, Hatton possibly. Cotto's level of competition is actually - I would say - BETTER than Mayweather's in the past 2 years.

De La Hoya will continue to make the money Floyd wishes he could make way after they are both retired, Floyd will never have De La Hoya money, DLH's a businessman. Floyds a boxer, he needs to box to make money, retirement wont support his lifestyle he likes.

They said the same about Oscar and Trinidad in 99.

Only this time I think they'd be right. Money May needs to sign the contract

I just dont understand how some fans can have more respect for the fighter that DOESNT WANT TO FIGHT, than they would for the fighter that DOES WANT TO FIGHT. Its incredible! You guys are defending Floyd decision NOT to fight Cotto, and yet have the nerve to call yourselves boxing fans? LOL.

                      cotto mayweather

Cotto should not say that. 5 - 10 years down the line if Cotto still hasnt lost they will not put him in front of mayweather. He should call out mayweather to peak the interest of the fans. Keep insulting him and his skills just like Hatton did. That will mean a bigger draw more money which is the only way floyd will fight anyone anymore. Floyd is not out to prove hes the best hes just tryin to get paid. Cotto still has to prove hes the best
