Show me padwork of hopkins that looks more impressive then that, it can be old videos of hopkins. I bet you won't find any better then that.

Like someone else said, what Calzaghe did is mainly for show. It's not to typical way to do effective padwork. If anything it looks more like a drill to keep his reflexes sharp. Your generally supposed to pretend a fighter is actually in front of you which means you move your head, the trainer throws a punch back now and then, you move around the ring, etc.

You can watch Hopkins do some padwork below. It may not look as impressive because he's not doing a bunch of half-punch flurries.

God love the Calzaghes. They both look a tad out of their element. That must have something to do with the fact that they are. Joe looks pensive and anxious in particular.

Me? If so, I'm not a hater but I am a big Hopkins fans, I admit that. I usually step in when I think Calzaghe is getting too much praise or to defend Hopkins. The same thing Calzaghe fans do which is fair both ways IMO. I've actually liked Calzaghe for a while and I'm very worried about the fight. In fact If I had to put money on it I'd pick Calzaghe.

He's footworks ok, certainly well timed, minimal movement, effective. But other than that, that the only other element worrying me is him leaning in with his head, i.e cutting Joe. Seriously scroll to 1:33, I'm surprised they didn't edit that out it's hilarious. Anyone got any recent Hopkins training or sparring vids?
