in final presser pictures he does have that look in his eyes man, I do know what you mean. But I think his heart and determination will not be enough to pull of the upset. Ultimately skills is what really matters and cotto is much, much more skilled all around then gomez. I think gomez puts on a real tough fight, and he will gain the respect of many after taking a severe beat down.

yeah well Mayorga also had tremendous punching power and is a very awkward fighter. Gomez is neither of those. If he forces Cotto to brawl, Gomez will lose. If he forces Cotto to box, Gomez will lose.

Boxing:
Forrest > Mayorga

Brawling:
Forrest < Mayorga

That's the difference right there. Mayorga had a very specific advantage over Forrest, Gomez doesn't have any advantage over cotto (cotto is the better boxer, he's faster, stronger, better conditioned, more experienced, etc.). Cotto is simply better than Gomez in every single aspect of the sport.

The only way I can see Cotto losing is if Gomez has the fight of his life, combined with Cotto not taking the fight seriously and didn't train for **** (which would be shocking in it's own right). Kinda like Tyson/Douglas (all the stars were perfectly aligned for that to happen).

same one Joey C when had he crushed Jeff Lacy. I will not be surprised if there is an upset. Cotto is prepared I'm sure, as always but Gomez seems veery determined. I don't know if you guys saw him on the contender or not but that kid showed heart. He was the smallest guy on the show and everyone underestimated him..Cotto is standing in the way of his livelyhood..
