    Since everyone says...

"Mayweather's win vs. Hatton doesn't count, because Hatton isn't a real welterweight, and they should have fought at 140."

Does that mean that people would be okay with Mayweather fighting Hatton at 140?

Or is this one of those "Oscar got robbed, but a rematch doesn't make sense" things?

No. because pbf will still hold the WW titles and claim to be WW champion.

He needs to fight a WW now!!

**** money, he's had 3 money fights in a row after Oscar II.

Fair enough. I am in the camp that believes that Mayweather should fight Cotto next, regardless of what happened in his previous bouts.

Still though, I am also someone that thinks that the De La Hoya fight wasn't all that close, and that Floyd is a small enough welterweight that if he fought at 140, it wouldn't make any difference, so at least I am staying consistent.

People who ***** about robberies and wrong weight classes are saying the exact things that give those rematches some credibility.

There isn't any problem with Floyd fighting Hatton at 140, as long as he vacates his welterweight title. Being the welterweight champion requires you to fight the top welterweights at that weight limit. And for the record, Floyd's win over Hatton definitely counts, especially since Ricky was a former 147 lb title holder.

Same here, but there are plenty of people on here who swear on their lives that Hatton isn't a real welterweight, and them fighting at 140 would be a COMPLETELY different ballgame.

There are definately a hell of a lot more people that are claiming that the Hatton fight was a fluke because of the weight class issue.

I dont see why. Floyd making 135 is debatable. I doubt he has any trouble making 140 though. It's not like he'll be weaker.

Floyd is a rock solid 147 now. Once you bulk up to a weight and maintain it for awhile, there is some question of how effective he would be taking it off.
