I don't really see why Silva losing to Jones in a boxing match would make the UFC look bad, saying that, I'm glad the fight is not happening.

I think because the majority of UFC fans arent that smart, they watch to see blood and KOs. Of course I'm stereo typing but thats what i see from the majority of their fans.., now when they see someone who is dominating MMA get knocked out cold, I dont think they would even comprehend its two totally different sports, and while it may not hurt the sport I definately think they wouldnt look at Anderson Silva the same, and hes one of the top 3 guys they have, so im sure his drawing power would decrease and in that way it could hurt the UFC..

Every time I watch MMA, the commentators would always point out that MMA fighters have to work on a few different styles of fighting and fans on MMA forums normally are pretty smart. They know that Silva doesn't just focus on striking but also needs to work on BJJ and so on, if Silva had fought and lost to Jones but put in a good showing, it would only enhance his image IMO.

Well, killing the fight still makes UFC look bad, if only to a lesser extent.

True... it makes them look like they backed down from a fight against our sport.

Thats true, but im talking about the fans that are at the PPVs and the ones who start booing every 10 seconds that doesnt have action. I dont think it would affect anyone over at a place like sherdog because most are true fans and are smart, but im talking about the average joe and average jane. I know people who throw UFC parties and there will be girls there because they think its cool and there will also be guys who "could take so and so if they fought". Now i know for a fact those girls and most of the idiots who attend those parties would not comprehend Silva dominating MMA yet not being able to kill RJJ. I think those are the people Dana White is scared to lose.
