I think Winky is very rare, i wouldnt practice to be like him unless you expect to take a lot of punishment. A lot of people enjoyed Roy Jones in the 90's but these fighters are one of a kind and shouldnt necessarily be emulated. Use bits and pieces and just work on using your skills to create your own style.Comment

Winky is the wrong guy to emulate. He is really rare. Do you realize how many punches go right through your guard if you don't know what you are doing?
And it's hard to fight like that. It's very tiring and you will get more than you think if you don't have reflexes like that.
Try to fight like him even in sparring for more than a round or two.
I respect the man.Comment

His arms are so ****in long he can guard his face wit his hands and his body wit his elbows at the same time. Like someone else mentioned, he don't sell out for power so after he punches he can cover back up quick. He mostly just blocks but he also sees punches coming well enough to duck under some too.Comment

Winky uses the guard to facilitate his counter punching and positioning. Unless you have a granite chin, it may not be for you. There's a psychology to it - more than meets the eye. As a defense it's effective with judges because they don't score glove shots, but Winky takes punishment.Comment
