Clottey has done his job, still Collazo is a bigger name who was robbed agaisnt puny hatton and had a tough fight agaisnt SSM. Other than losing to Margarito, who has Clottey fought??? Tell you what, let clottey and collazo fight for the chance. That could be a good fight.

I wouldnt reall say Collazo had a tough fight with Mosley, he lost almost every round...then again, he had hand problems, didnt he? guess well never know tho...
and truth be told, Clottey did beat Corrales and then Shamone Alvarez, and I think that was an IBF title eliminator actually...could be wrong tho.

I like your idea more though, haha. even if Im not sure it would be a fantastic fight...they both hide behind their guards a little too much, I dont think that would match up well. but it would definately make sense, I would like to see it.

          Clottey's wins since Margarito:
          - Diego Corrales
          - Felix Flores
          - Shamone Alvarez
          - Jose Luis Cruz

Wins before: No one of note, but guys with some good records. Like 45-5, enough to give him a decent run.

He's certainly worked his way up and had a close fight with Margarito and did well in the begining.

He deserves another shot at an alphabet title, but if you were to say he deserves a shot at the championship you're crazy.

Clottey won the eliminator, no doubt. Then again, Collazo is more known than Clottey so it makes more sense when you want to sell a fight. Collazo vs. Cotto at "El Choliseo", in San Juan PR will sell. It's not like we are saying Gatti deserves a shot...

Burner is right this time out. Clottey has puthis work in to get another title shot. He should fight Collazo for the vacant IBF title on the undercard to the JUly PPV.

I can think of 6 more guys who deserve a match with Cotto as of today and in no order:

                  1. Antonio Margarito
                  2. Kermit Cintron
                  3. Carlos Quintana
                  4. Joshua Clottey
                  5. Paul Williams (he lost, but he's more deserving then Collazo)
                  6. Shane Mosley

Cotto deserves a fight with Floyd not the other way around so I didn't include him.
Are you on crack????????????? Carlos Quintana already got knocked out by a weight drained Cotto, and Quintana BEAT Williams. And Shane Mosley already lost to Miguel. Collazo, Clottey, and the winner of Marg-Cintron could fight Cotto.

I'm not gonna even go on to comment about the Floyd comment.... All i will say is that the only reason Cotto is talking for a Floyd fight is because he knows Floyd is tied up with the DLH fight. If not, why didn't he do it before?

Amen to that. after the loss to Margarito .. Clottey's done nothing but win

and presently he's on a 4 fight win streak .. already mentioned but for the record it's (Corrales, Flores, Alvarez (IBF) eliminator and Cruz)

but still, his lack of marketability has hurt him

and notice the headline .. "Could wind up as Cotto's mandatory."

unfortunately for Clottey, he's the IBF mandatory, not Cotto's.

*I guess we should find out shortly after April 12th who the Margarito/Cintron winner fights next right?

Except Carlos has reproven himself and deserves another shot. Weight drained Cotto too huh? At 147 pounds? That's new to me.

Williams still lost a close (but clear) fight to Quintana, that's more deserving then a blowout from Mosley.

Mosley had a close fight with Cotto and Shane always does better in rematches.

And Cintron and Margarito (of today) deserve more then Collazo. Cintron if he loses though doesn't. Neither does Margarito.
