ESPN DEBATE: Cintron vs Margarito 2!!

If steward trained Cintron only to win by decision he will lose. You can't decision someone with a tough chin like Margarito, Cintron has to come out fast and strong and hit Margarito with hard ass shots. He has to hurt Margarito to win, and I personally feel that if he doesn't ko Margarito, then Margarito will ko him. Cintron is capable of knocking anyone the **** out like you said, but I don't know how Steward is training him, I think Steward is a cautious trainer which is probably kind of bad for a fight like this. Theres no way in hell Cintron can win by points because Margarito will get to him and hut him. So, Cintron needs to hurt Margarito real bad, it can be done. If Paul Williams can decision Margarito, then I believe Cintron has the power to knock Margarito the **** out. Paul Williams is not a hard hitter like Cintron. Cintron has a gift with his power, but I feel his trainers hold him back at times. He needs to set his punches up with a good jab and a hard right and switch it up every so often to keep it new and to keep Margarito from guessing what Cintron will throw next. Don't allow Margarito to know what Cintron is throwing next, make Margarito shocked. Cintron is one of the hardest hitters in this weight class, let him prove that on saturday, if he doesn't he'll end up on the canvas again.he hit marg with a 3 punch combo in round 2 that seemed to shake marg up a bit. But i agree, Marg seemed to walk through everything Cintron tossed at him.
Although, Cintron is technically better now, so the likelyhood of him landing a full on flush right hand is greater, and he could knock out anybody with that shot.Comment

agree with paragraph above plusOrtiz 1:43 p.m.: In terms of how the fight will play out, I'll let reader Chriskent2002 do the talking for me: This will be a far more competitive fight than people think, with Cintron ahead on the scorecards halfway through. How he handles what is becoming the usual Margarito late-fight surge will be the key. He is going to hurt Margarito early, and I wouldn't be surprised to see an early stoppage (and if you're a gambler, take that bet). If Margarito makes it past the halfway point, he will most likely pull out a 10th- or 11th-round TKO. This could be an entertaining war.
i'm believing in the chemistry between cintron/stewart making a differents.
cintron is one of the few that actually listens to his corner. and so mannys failing of most recent to get his fighters to do what he says i.e. wimp klit and dim taylor will not come into play.Comment

I personally thought Cintron fought beautifully in the Walter Dario Matthysse fight, and thats the Cintron I want to see on Saturday. That Cintron would scare even someone like Margarito.agree with paragraph above plus

he sure did. but think mathysee isnt in the same class as cintron.
and you know theres a chance if it takes marg several rounds to get going that what happened to matt could happen to marg.
after revisiting cintron/marg I it appears to me very little improvement is needed for cintron to get a win.

another good article with a slightly different perspective on these things:Ortiz 1:43 p.m.: In terms of how the fight will play out, I'll let reader Chriskent2002 do the talking for me: This will be a far more competitive fight than people think, with Cintron ahead on the scorecards halfway through. Ortiz 1:44 p.m.: Minus the part about Margarito taking the fight into deep water, I have to agree with Chriskent's assessment.
Ortiz 1:45 p.m.: OK, winding down, who punches harder here? I've hard arguments for both sides. I feel Margarito has that bludgeoning, heavy-handed punch, while Cintron of the one-punch knockout type.
Houston, 1:46 p.m.: Cintron clearly seems to be the harder hitter but sometimes the guy with the better chin and superior character wins these fights and I think Margarito's durability and tenacity cancels out Kermit's firepower.
Ortiz 1:47 p.m.: Fair enough. I've heard your side of the argument, hit me with a prediction.
Houston, 1:47 p.m.: Margarito by late-rounds TKO after having to endure some heavy shots in the first four or five rounds. I see a wearing-down type of win for Margarito. I think that at some stage, Cintron's resistance will crumble -- incidentally, his former trainer, Marshall Kaufmann, is on the same page here, feeling that if Cintron does not end the fight early, he will be struggling the deeper it goes -- I think Margarito wins in 10-11 rounds.
Ortiz 1:48 p.m.: Mr. Houston with the references!
Ortiz 1:49 p.m.: My turn: I'm predicting a late-round stoppage for Cintron. I say he softens Margarito up in the early going, stifles the Tijuana Tornado's attack with a stiff jab and a heavy right behind it, and, in the late rounds, Margarito gets rescued by his corner. Margarito may be the better fighter but he's got a ton of wear and tear on his body, and he'll be there for Cintron's right hands. I know he took Kermit's best shots in the first go-around, but those weren't Cintron's hardest shots; those were of the nervous energy variety. I'm looking for Cintron to pick his spots early, stun Margarito, earn his respect and force an eighth- or ninth-round stoppage.
Ortiz 1:53 p.m.: Thanks for joining us, boxing fans! Leave your predictions on the discussion page, and I'll catch you on the message boards after the fights!

Margarito vs. Cintron II = Marquez vs. Pacquiao II in the sense that one is a straight up pressure fighter with power and the other is a boxer/puncher with better technical skill. but in this fight, the boxer/puncher MAY get actually knocked out.Comment

I think you're on drugs. This fight is 50/50
You obviously must not have seen the first fight where both men were basically even on the scorecards before the stoppage took place.
