Is Miguel Cotto's Fanbase bigger than Floyd's?

Floyd says he won't fight Cotto until Cotto has a bigger fanbase and can draw more money. Yet, I wonder, honestly, who really has the bigger fanbase? Floyd is known for sending people out of the stadium if he's not fighting a named opponent. How on earth could his be bigger than the rising star Cotto who can easily sellout MSG?

I don't know who has a bigger fanbase, but Mayweather has proven to be a better PPV seller. PPVs generate more money than ticket sales.

Floyd's full of it anyway. I don't know why people take his comments seriously.

I take it as him just trying to hold out for more money.

Cotto has a big enough fanbase and enough popularity for him and Floyd to make a ****load of money. Why else would Floyd be asked about Cotto on ESPN? I think right now, Floyd is just trying to make as much money as he can, which it's hard to blame him on, but it can be frustrating as a boxing fan. As far as who has a bigger fanbase; well, that's hard to say.

Floyd is more popular but I think Cotto has a bigger fanbase, hell he has a country behind him and a **** load of PR's here. Just to start.

Cant really tell untill Cotto fights outside of NY. Horus is right in saying that Cotto is still a NY local but his PPV numbers suggest that he may indeed have a following outside of the Puertorock people.

Cotto has a bigger fanbase, but Floyd is more known due to the exposure he received during his fights with Oscar and Hatton. If the question is who has more fans?, then i will have to say Cotto. His style is more fan-friendly.

I mean across the board it's a no brainer that Floyd has more fans. He's reached a broader demographic.

But when Floyd says **** like Cotto needs more fans I'm like, "Dawgs...anytime he fights its predominately a Cotto crowd (and not counting fights in PR)".

Can you imagine the arena (or stadium) when Cotto comes out against Floyd? Bonkers...

Floyd is the guy people love to hate, so even if they arent "fans' of his more people will tune in because the guy is an event in himself. Floyd gains everybody's interest whether you like him or not, and Miguel only gains his fans interest as of now, and that is the difference.
