Just because the names weren't so big in some places, doesn't mean they weren't tough fights. Lets not forget he ruined Eubank and most of whats come his way since hasn't challenged him as much, esp from usa. He beat Kessler, whom is undisputedly good apart from to Hopkins. Kessler and Eubank would kick the **** out of Bernard all day long. Hopkins may challenge as much or more than Kessler perhaps yes, but Calzaghes favourite for a reason my friend.
Micheal Watson ruined Eubank. He was no where near the same fighter when he fought Calzaghe, Not even close.

The trash talk is gettin old. They need to be gagged until fight night. We've got enough hype for this fight to last a year.

Obviously Tito and Oscar are better then Kessler thats not what I'm saying. I think Calzaghe beating Kessler is more impressive because he was the same weight. Hopkins makes light heavy easily and was a big middleweight while Tito and Oscar didn't belong at middle. I think Hopkins win over Tarver is more impressive then the others as well.

Tito did fine and was Knockin heads at middle prior to hopkins. He's almost 6' himself and could easily fit at middle (I mean, he just fought jones at 170 and granted he's past his prime but still) and looked great knockin Joppy out prior to Hopkins (and KO vargas prior to that obviously). He was undefeated and a 4-1 favorite to beat hopkins.

People bring the weight thing up waaaaaaaaaaaay too much when it comes to hopkins. Fighters always go up in weight, it's the nature of the game. It's not like if Cotto beat Mayweather everyone will start discrediting Cotto because Mayweather is a true lightweight, etc.

Yea I know what you mean and I'm not saying beating Tito wasn't a good victory, I just don't see it as being as impressive. I'm more impressed with the Tarver win because Hopkins was expected to be overpowered by the "bigger" man and he just outclassed him. I just don't see how anybody expected Tito to be able to overpower Hopkins.

well looking back now it seems a bit silly, but back then Tito was by many p4p best in the sport and he knocked out pretty much everyone (he was 40-0, with like 35 KO's). Hopkins still hadn't fought any major stars as of yet and despite his long reign as middleweight champ, still relatively unknown and was considered pretty old at 36. And he completely dominated Trinidad, which no one had ever came close to doing before (still the only man to knock him out). HBO even even had Trinidad vs Jones jr planned after Hopkins because they figured Tito would win.

Size doesn't win fights. Ask Ray Leonard, Roy Jones and that fat, amorphous blob that was schooling all the heavyweights James Toney, among others. If your A better fighter you can beat a bigger guy. Period.

You can't seriously consider either Tito or Oscar the equal at middleweight to Kessler at SMW. It's not even debatable. Tito didn't do **** at middleweight, and he was shaky at 154. Oscar's best weight was 140
