I thought his last fight against Ruiz was close to a U pickem...Guzman looked very good in that fight and it was the type of fight where I think most top contenders are thinking they should stear clear of Joan.

Can you imagine Valero v. Guzman?

He should go to Mexico and call out Marquez!

      Seriously......I'd love to see Guzman-Marquez.

I have no idea why people are so big on Valero. I know he can punch, but he hasn't shown much science to his game thus far.

        Mismatch, Guzman all night.

He has been trying to land big fights. He called out pacquaio, marquez, everyone. The problem is that he is relatively unknown so the stars of the division are mostly after big paydays (typical in boxing) and Guzman does not provide a big payday.

The only thing he can be criticized for is not creating exciting fights. Like against Soto, people didn't like how he easily beat soto instead of trying to knock him out in the later rounds.

I think after he KO's Arthur, it will create a small buzz around him and since Pacman is leaving the division for now, Marquez will be #1, Guzman #2, if they fight the winner would be champion. So that's probably the only way he'll get a big named fight any time soon.

Or he can try to get a fight with Valero and after he picks him apart, people will really notice how good Guzman is and will demand a Marquez or Pacman fight.

Your right in a sense that Valero has lacked some science in his game in his last say....last 10 bouts-but his initial hype came from his sparring with Erik Morales early in his career where he reportedly embarrassed El Terrible with an abundance of skill.

Vincente Mosquera was no push over and Edwin handled him well especially having no real professional rounds under his belt...I anticipate that the better the comp EV is in with the more science you will see from him.

With that said I believe Guzman is going to be a tough one to handle for anyone and again I dont think anyone is really all that eger on fighting him...at least if I was managing I would be careful.

agreed he shud proberly try to unify the division to even if its a the ibf belt as long as he has another belt he will get recognised a bit more even if he gets the less pay it wil only benefit him in the later run because he isnt gettin any younger.
