      The best matchups came late in the year.

      Boxing wasn't gonna die or be saved by that fight. It was just people overhyping the magnitude of a big event.

          I agree with Kevin 100%.

          if it were truely a gift it would be on free broadcast TV (like FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc.)

          MANY guys at this level of boxing have tune-up fights on free HBO.

          thats nothing new.

          what could oscar really do? charge $50 to see him fight steve forbes? a tune up fight? i doubt it.

          if oscar were fighting a better qualified opponent on may 3rd to make it more of a real fight (instead of a tune-up fight) and put THAT on free HBO then i could see it being considered a gift to fans.

          its really nothing more than a routine tuneup fight...
