We were also saying Ibragimov was perfect cannon fodder for him.

Maybe we weren't wrong and Wlad just got gun-shy. We'll never know

No, we were not. I think we all agreed on the fact that Ibragimov were not gonna be an easy fight for Wlad. We all also agreed that he will win comfortably or knock him out .

Povetkin will get his eventually. He'll try to get to the title without Wlad if he can but it probably won't happen. They'll fight later on and Povetkin will get dealt wit.

Way too early for Povetkin to fight Wlad. Wlad knocks him out pretty easily right now.

But Wlad must satisfy the IBF defense by November, otherwise he'll be stripped of the title

Hamburger Zentraler (newspaper) reports that Team Klit is working out a new deal with RTL (television station)
That means that Wlad will have to fight in 4 months after Thompson, which is an unlikely scenario. Most likely, he'll postpone it until early 2009.

I don't understand how anyone can talk about Wladimir like he is some kind of wrecking-machine anymore. Several losses and even some horrible wins (like the Ibragimov bout) have put things in proper perspective for me.

Wlad fought his mandatory Ray Austin four months after he fought Calvin Brock. There's no reason why he can't fight in November after having fought in July.

He hasn't lost a fight in four years, and he avenged that one last July. He's won eight fights in a row, six of them by KO. He's completely dominated his past five opponents.

Ok, the latest news is that IBF did not really decide to give Wlad a levee(sp?) on the defense against Povetkin.

It was a made up post(by one of the establisged members, as an experiment) on one of the russian forums that later spread into russian media and then german media.

That dude really knows how to pwn. He set it up as a trap to see if the stuff from their forum really gets plagiarized by the official sources, because they had earlier su****ions that it was.
