Co-sign, he wouldn't try to make drastict changes I don't think

What are you talking about? You're saying that because his two protege's lost by 1 point a piece to 2 top 10 pound for pound fighters that Beristain hasn't done much? You're a tough critic pal.

Ok i would have said Beristain i really like his work, more than any other on the list, but...every trainer has a style, and if u see the 2 most recognizable fighters from Beristain, the Marquez bros, have a style of pure boxer/puncher ( maybe also counterpunching) and that would take power from Cottos style....

u cant take a guy like Bobby Chacon with enmanuel Steward to teach him how to box/jab better...he doesnt need that things!that are not his WEAPONS he needs a trainer who developes the style he fights right now.

IMO Cotto is a puncher whose better weapon is 2 fight on the inside, has movement if he wants but some people accuse him of being one-dimensional, i just think he has to stick to the plan of being the hunter and thats difficult to do it without looking that way.

IMO i do believe Rudy Perez is the best trainer Miguel because he can develop his style and do a masterfull job on perfectioning (does exists perfectioning???) fighting on the inside, also a clever trainer (good 4 the plan mentioned before) and also push well his fighters ,lol , he also speaks spanish! he must hire him NOW!

Im not saying that the other trainers wouldnt match with Cotto....of course not, they are some of the best trainers in the world, i just think Rudy would match better with.

Nacho. Cuz of Cotto's aggressiveness. It's similar to Rafael Marquez.Cotto is more of a straightforward king of fighter,Nacho can improve his footwork!

pretty good post, but i see more of aaron pryor in cotto than ricky hatton; combos, boxing and when in front of an opponent that he's not stressing he can come in with the balls to the wall approach, even finito did this sometimes. this i feel would fit perfectly into a schematic laid down by nacho. oh, not sure if you meant like 'best' fighter of beristain's when you mentioned the marquez bros in relation to them being recognized .. but before them there was some very good boxers from his tutelage with finito lopez being the best. youtube finito and be in awe of the dude.

cotto already has great fundamentals, and hes a thinker - exactly what a beristain fighter is known for.

i hope someone from cotto's camp truly goes after nacho.
