Taylor was a dead man in the ring. You guys who say Taylor was the "better man" that night can't be serious. He won some rounds but got completely destroyed. That's one of the top ass-whoopings in the past twenty years

it was a fair stoppage, if a fighter can't reply, how many seconds are you suppose to give him???????

Yes because it's a judgment call.

Steele's job wasn't to stare at the ****ing clock while Chavez was murdering Taylor after the right hand, lol he was almost dead.

            He was ****ing totally dead.

That was as legitimate as a late knockout can actually be.

the guy was for all intents and purposes knocked out, although he was not knocked down. Steele DID give him enough time to respond.

I thought Steele ****ed up big time in this. Taylor easily beat the count but you can also put blame on Taylor for not responding. He was looking at his corner because I think his trainer was saying something to him but Steele ****ed up. He wasn't doing a Zab Judah or an Enzo Mac back to his corner.

It's pretty simple. Taylor lost the fight, and it's his own fault, and that of his trainer. Steele asked him if he was ok twice, and Taylor looked away and said nothing. He was beaten to a pulp and couldn't even stand up on his own power, he was leaning back on the ropes. The time left in the round is meaningless. Completely meaningless. If a fighter cannot answer the ref, and doesn't look fit to continue, then the ref must stop it, whether there's 5 seconds left or 5 rounds left. Period.

The kids who really think it was a bad stoppage are mostly brainwashed by the Legendary Nights HBO special, which was cleverly edited to make it seem more controversial than it was.

I dont give a **** if there was a 90 in lcd in the back of taylors head telling steele 3 seconds left. thats irrelevant. If you dont answer the ten count you are out!! What dont you get about that. steele asked him twice if he's ok taylor didnt know what the **** was going on steele stopped it. You'd have to be an idiot to not see that. Why should rules be bent??? if you dont answer the ten count your out case closed why is this an argument???? You dont answer the ten count your out case closed why is this an argument? did taylor answer the then count? no! when steel asked him if he was ok taylor didnt know what was going on. and steel asked if he was ok after the ten count so in reality taylor had 11 or 12 seconds to respond and didnt. how the **** is this an argument. you guys are pathetic.

Your argument is lame. The only time there is a ten count is if the fighter is off his feet. That is Boxing 101, genius. Taylor beat the ten count. He was standing up and there was no count when the fight was stopped, so your point is full of ****. There were no rules that would have been "bent". It was a judgement call. And time, scoring, and everything going on in a fight is a factor the referee needs to consider. Of all the arguments for stopping the fight, yours was the worst one.

Completely wrong. A referee is not obligated, and actually should not, consider who he thinks may be ahead on the cards when he's determining if a fighter can continue. If a fighter cannot respond, he's done. If he can't stand under his own power and the ref thinks he is too battered and hurt, then that's what he considers. That's it.

I mean, imagine the ref having to, while he's asking the fighter if he's ok, look around to see how much time is left. "Oh, there's not much time left, you're unfit to continue, but I'll let you continue since there's not much time left." LOL NO! If you're unfit to continue, that's it. The end.

"Um, oh you're way ahead on the scorecards, so even though you can barely stand and aren't coherent and can't answer my questions, I'll let you continue." LOL Just think about what you're saying. It's completely wrong.
