      He most defently hasn't only gained fame himself, he done it on backs of other more popular fighters. The one that set it off was the Gatti ppv. And the Delahaoy fight put him at the top. But, he was not the star fighter in either, I think the only one you can say he was the star is the Mayweather v. Judah fight. The other ppv, people paid to see the opponet not Mayweather fight.

      And Mayweather is doing it his way making a fool of himself on dancing with the stars as Holyfiled, Tszyu, did so before Mayweather. And now WWE, Tyson, Holyfield, Ali, all did the wrestling route too. Mayweather isn't doing it all his way, he's just taken a route most fighters before him have taken.
      You see, your argument would make sense if those fighters you mention didn't get career high PPV numbers by fighting Floyd.

      If no one paid to see them fight Floyd, then why Hatton and De La Hoya do over DOUBLE their normal PPV numbers?
