12 rounds is fine...If Wlad vs Peter was a 15 round fight Peter would have been seriously hurt...Peter took terrible punishment from Wlad in that fight, he was badly hurt and was out on his feet in the 12th round...Peter might have left the ring in a body bag if there was a 13th round.

On second thought, they should've made Wlad/Peter a 15 round fight

Or even worse watching 3 more rounds of Wlad vs Barney.

I think 12 rounds is where it should remain.

In the past we've seen some tragic things happen in the boxing ring and as results of being in the boxing ring.

Fighters have died in that ring and many have walked away from the sport without ever being the same again.

        No need to name names.

I think 12 rounds fights are safer for all fighters invovled and i think for the most part referees are doing a much better job at protecting boxers who are in danger of seriously getting hurt.

True there has been some quick stoppages (especially this year on recent versus card and the andy lee fight) but to be honest its better to be safe than sorry.

15 rounds would mean longer fights which would be exciting for fans and would do wonders for great fights like Pacquiao v. Marquez (I and II)...but as i said; i'd rather see saftey first rather than a few exciting fights.

12 rounds is a good number of rounds to properly determine a winner; provide great excitement; and most importantly; protect the fighters we all admire.

I wouldn't mind seeing 15 round fights again but I realize it would be dangerous for the fighters so I think fights should go 13 rounds to avoid draws and controversy.

Don't think so. Imagine a Defensive Winky Wright, a Cory Spinks fight..for 15 rounds??? Naw man, now you're really asking for MMA to be better than boxing. Besides, todays boxers don't have the stamina as old school boxers.

Yes they do, old fighters just conserved themselves a lot better. In a 40 round fight there was a barely any action.

I'm old enough to remember 15 round fights, and I don't really miss them. Twelve rounds is enough time to determine the better fighter and you get faster paced matches.

I agree. draws would be almost non existent if they changed to a 13 round system.
