i still didnt like that though. it feels like JMM knows his time is running out and he wants that one career defining win. so he's trying to do whatever he can to get the rematch. still not cool in my book.

Well like you said he wants that one fight badly, and it will be a huge fight if the 2nd fight made 525,000 buys The 3rd won will probably break that record maybe making 600,000 buys.

i dont even think thats what he's thinking about, it annoys me when people say he wants another big payday. look at the way he's acting. he wants to prove he's the better fighter, but i wish he would do it more respectfully. you're right though, the next one will prolly be even bigger.

          Relax, 2501...

JMM was pushy without being outright rude.
Crowd seemed to enjoy it, and frankly...

The third installment has always been a given.
The question is when, and staged (yes, you can believe everyone knew in
advance what was going to be said) exchanges like this help keep public
          interest simmering.

Besides, it wasn't all empty hype.
There was REAL meat for boxing fans in the exchage:
Correct or not in his assessment, Pac is now on record as feeling he was
lucky that night, to win. Correct or not, Marquez is on record as STILL
          convinced that he won.

Although neither opinion counts in the scorecards, aren't you now
just a LITTLE more excited to see a third fight?

Arum needs to know if there'll be enough air under a part III for a profitable
liftoff, so soon after part II, and nice video spots like this help him
and others gauge the wind, as well as keep the pot from going too cold before
they can serve it up again.

TopRank, etc. can and will adjust Pac's fight plans, to make the max $$$$,
and Pac's been consistent: he'll be happy fight anyone, anytime, but it
is up to what his manager and promoter can arrange, as is their job to do.

That was very cool how they showed respect to each other and Manny was a class act like always.

Boxing should be glad Pacquiao came on the scene, he has made fans of many people who might not have been exposed to this great sport if not for him. Sure they have some ignorant fans from time to time but those fans come with every superstar from the past and future.

Seems like the philippines is boxing mad and they can't get enough of this great sport, Boxing is global which is great to get to know lots of cultures and people.

Oh yeah Marquez won both fights

they said it was the same arena that Ali fought frazier.

That's determination right there. I admire both guys for allowing and creating that situation. It should be meaningless, but Manny let Juan Manuel have his chance to address it, and Juan Manuel showed alot of professionalism and seriousness to go all the way out there to talk about it head on. No BS.

I agree its already building more steam and hype...it just makes the Trilogy that much more lucrative...

thats how you know a fight was good when it can go either way and the people don't stop talking about the decision.

I was shocked the rematch got 525,000 ppv buys that is amazing for Featherweights! and for Boxing in general, imagine the 3rd match how much it will gross?

                      Depends on when...

It looks like March '09 can be moved up to Q4 of 2008, depending on how
things shape up for both fighters. Marquez does have to decide if he needs
a tuneup first at 135, or if he wants his first dip in LW to be versus Pac.

Think about competing PPV draws, pan-sports... and then consider:
What's more profitably promising? Fourth quarter 08 or first quarter '09?

                      h.
