While on paper this looks like a thriller, I see an ugly boring mauling fight.
Casamayor will throw out every dirty trick in the book and Diaz will have to adjust.
Casa is getting older, don't know how much the loss took out of Diaz. Seems like when he got cut, he lost his steam and was open to some pretty clean shots.

It will probably be a very ugly fight.
I think Diaz needs a soft touch to get his spirit back. Casa's problem is he gets into a habit of fighting infrequently so this fight may be way down the road, if it ever happens.

Campbell won't get a shot at either this year. It looks like the two will face off in July and the winner will face MAB is September.

And i think this is because your casual fan doesn't follow boxing closely and may only know the fighters that the ppv or hbo may tell them of and they are used to seeing teams lose and may think a lose in boxing is the same, where a lose can break your star status/contender/prospect status and a boxer usally has to start over. But because boxing is not dead, and there is money in boxing and the stars of boxing wheather they lose or not they still get the money fight cause they bring in the money.
That is how it SHOULD BE. Losses should not be weighed so heavily against a figher. This would be very good for the sport, that way a fighter doesn't have to go all the way to the bottom of the totem pole if they lose.

Diaz should get at least one easier oppoent before Casamayor but thats not the Golden Boy tradition. I've noticed once you sign with Delahoya you will be put in with tough competition right away.

Should be a great fight, if Diaz can gets back his speed he'll beat Casamayor. Diaz will have to be all over Casamayor cause he'll be looking to move all night.
So, why are you *****ing for your fighter with this match up? Are you afraid Diaz might lose and retire?

Its only good for Diaz, I dont see why Casamayor would take this fight unless Diaz is on the outs...why not fight Alex De Jesus, hes a Puerto Rican Olympian, it'd be a classic boxing match with more on the line than this ****, and fight a tune up before.

I like the fight. Too many people are writing off Diaz when everyone seems to forget that he was dominating the fight with Campbell until he got that vicious gash.

Plus, who would you rather see Manny Pacquiao fight in the future? Diaz or Casamayor? Unless you're into seeing Casamayor getting destroyed, you'll want to see him fight Juan Diaz.

And Nate Campbell's in a bad way right now. He's under the DKP banner and they have exactly zero relevant lightweights. GBP has them all.

Depends on the GBP agenda. If they want to push Diaz, it will be him and Pacquiao sometime soon.

If they want to cash on in on the short-term, they'll push really hard to set up Pacquiao-Marquez III. There's lots of money to be made there.

BTW, Who's that chick in your sig?

I agree Juan should face someone else before he jumps straight to Casa. If Pac beats Diaz he might face Casa next to go for the world title instead of a bunch more alphabet belts against Nate. If Pac wins I think Diaz will be forced to sit and wait for another opportunity to come along. I wouldn't mind seeing him face Katsidis to see who gets the next shot. While all this **** is gettin sorted out Juan should just whoop a journeyman contender to get some confidence and momentum back.
