Nope, and there's no such thing as 9 seconds to survive either.

Derry Matthews was up and down like a yoyo in his 3rd round and nothing was done to stop it until he couldnt physically get back up.

And yeah, I noted it in the Kahn fight to.

However, it reminded me of a football match.. The ref cant really blow the final whistle if the ball is RIGHT up one end of the pitch and a team looks like scoring. It's similar because amir was slamming shots left right and centre and didnt look like he was ready to stop.. So it seemed like a similar decision to "playing advantage" in a football match. Just my view.

Amir Khan's opponents have an average ko quote around 5,5 if you subtract the tkos and the guys coming from lower weights you are probably around 2. If he has more than wet paper as a chin I would wonder.

The tv clock didn't stop for the timeout+warning, which could have lasted from anywhere b/w 10 to 15 seconds. (I don't think the ref officially signalled "time in".)

Can the timekeeper stop the bell if the referee doesn't signal time in?

                Good point.

This is all academic though. kristjansen just didn't want to fight.

It was bad reffing but it is all moot. The guy wanted out.

No. The timekeeper didnt do his job. What was the official time? Wasn't it 2.53 of the seventh? Do the math here.

Face it: It was home-town officiating.

Amir would have won anyway, but thats beside the point.

Yeah exactly, it's nothing to do with Amir, Krist or the ref. It's just bothering that there's somebody who'd let the round go on a couple of extra seconds, because a guy looked like he was about to go down again. Fights are won and lost over being saved by the bell.

Not this one though in fairness,

Krist just wanted to go home, have a hot chocolate and warm himself infront of the fire place.

                      He was overmatched hardcore.
