    I'm sure he would have more pride saying "I grew up with two loving parents, one a doctor, the other a lawyer, picket fence, two dogs, never got into trouble, I've been blessed with athletic ability etc etc."

    A lot of misinformed people on NSB think everyone is proud to be from the ****** and incarcerated, whereas the real pride from Hop comes from having overcome so much adversity.

    He accepts his roots and knows that a lot of what he went through has to do with where he is now. If he never went to jail, he probably wouldn't have been involved in any boxing. It's all fate and he's just telling his story.

    I saw that thread. I see why you made it. I just take it for granted that most fighters have it hard.

    It's a special type of character who doesn't mind getting smashed in the head for living even though they had a nice life and many other options.

    They are the ones that intrigue me.

      I agree. It shows how much they love and respect the sport and are willing to put everything on the line.
