Bernard Hopkins and where he Grew Up

The projects and Germantown both look pretty crappy if you ask me. Being born into a ******/drug abusing family is about as gutter as it gets. That probably had a huge bearing on how his mind was molded cognitively, when the brain is very vulnerable. So whoever is buying into Kayjay's jealousy of Bernard, or whatever it is, don't. There some obvious bias going on there where he wants to believe everything that takes credibility away from Hop.

I'm sure Bernard had a crappy upbringing.

But it doesn't matter at all in the ring.

You could get a guy who lived like a King and have the biggest heart in boxing.

Bernard talks about his ****ty life before boxing like it means that he will go to wire in fights. But has Nard even had a blood and guts war? he is not that type of fighter.

Yo it's all hit and miss man, sometimes where you come from makes you hard sometimes it don't. Look at miranda this cat was eating...well cat at one point broke as hell given up on...but that didn't stop cow-tippin ass pig bonin' Pavlik from knockin' his head off his shoulders did it?

I knew a guy who came from a rough background. He died of a heroin overdose while addicted to crack and hardly won any world championships at all.

              EXACTLY!

Both my parent came up in projects, on welfare, my mom's family was on section 8 and they both came up real rough. They're both college graduates now. My cousins and them still live in the 'hood/Barrio whatever you want to call it and some of them are hard or whatever, but not all of them. Being from the hood might make a person hood, but it doesn't make them hard.

I could give two ****s about where Bernard Hopkins grew up. He's a hard dude in the ring and that's all that matters in a boxing match.

I agree 100%. Unfortunately, that has nothing to do with what I posted. Some people on here sadly want to claim bull**** on how Bernard was raised. There would be no reason for him to lie about it.

I'm sure he would have more pride saying "I grew up with two loving parents, one a doctor, the other a lawyer, picket fence, two dogs, never got into trouble, I've been blessed with athletic ability etc etc."

A lot of misinformed people on NSB think everyone is proud to be from the ****** and incarcerated, whereas the real pride from Hop comes from having overcome so much adversity.

He accepts his roots and knows that a lot of what he went through has to do with where he is now. If he never went to jail, he probably wouldn't have been involved in any boxing. It's all fate and he's just telling his story.
