    Cotto-Mayorga on July 19?

On the Versus telecast last night they made it seem like Clottey was either going to fight Gomez (if Gomez shocks the world) or the Cintron-Margarito 2 winner. Then I was looking on boxrec at some stuff and I saw this: http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php...3535&cat=boxer

I know boxrec isn't 100% reliable on scheduled fights, but that's a little bit of a jip if it's true. I guess they're saving Cotto for the tougher fight since it looks like he won't get to DLH or Mayweather until at least spring 2009.

I wouldn't trust boxrec about upcoming fights. Last I read, Arum is considering Mayorga vs Pavlik.

How much does Mayorga weigh? I swear I hear this guy being mentioned for big fights from 147 - 168. It looks like he's going to fight in July, but it might be against Cotto, Forrest, Pavlik or Taylor. I mean what the hel1!?! That's the very definition of anytime, anywhere right?

No idea how much he weighs now but Arum said he called Mayorga a few days ago about a fight with Pavlik, Mayorga did weigh 164 in his fight with Vargas but this would be a mismatch.

I agree. It's one thing to fight Vargas at 164 and another to fight Pavlik at 160. But I gotta respect Mayorga. If there's a ring a dude standing in the other corner he'll be there.

Mayorga should fight Vernon again. Cotto needs to focus on nothing short of trying to unify the 147 lb belts against the other title holders while he's waitin to fight Floyd.

hmm cotto might have trouble with mayorga at welter because hes very dangerous at that wieght a very risky fight for cottos chin.
