Gomez is even worse than i thought. Why is Cotto fighting this guys at 27 years of age? Mayweather at 23 was fighting undefeated p4p king and champion Corrales. Why so much heat on Mayweather and Cotto gets away with this with no hatered whatsoever?

On boxrec it says hes gonna fight Mayorga next lol. That is a good fight to compare with Trinidad, but Gomez, is embrassing, Im embrassed for him. Thats why I pick Gomez to win, because hes a reality tv show star. No other reason...

However, he does bring some things to the table that give me some hope. He doesn't have much power, but he's a very high volume combination puncher, and Cotto hasn't faced many of those. He also goes to the body very well/often, and Cotto hasn't experienced a ton of that either. And he's been in against bigger guys and was able to win or last the distance swinging even when he got beat, so he's pretty tough. He does nothing outstanding, but pretty good all-around skills, and is a very fundamentally sound fighter. I don't think he's bigger than Cotto but he is taller and longer, with a pretty solid jab game, which again, I don't think Cotto has faced many good jabbers. Lastly, Cotto is slightly injured and he might underestimate Gomez, as he has not always gotten "up" for smaller matches.

All that said, it's a lot of hope and maybes. Regardless of the outcome though, Gomez vs Cotto will be an all-action fight for as long as it lasts, so it should be pretty entertaining.
im mexican, but im closer to this...
