Why is all the Cotto haters saying Gomez is a bum or that he has slim chances? You'll be the first ones to celebrate if he pulls of the upset. I think like all Cotto opponents, Gomez has a good chance, he's coming in to win, he's tough mentally, has a good jab, good over hand right which Mosley proved it can be landed against Cotto, has a good chin and is the bigger fighter. This should be a good test on how Cotto will do against Margarito. I pick Cotto, but not on a one sided fight, I think Gomez's heart will make it interesting. Margarito will KO Cintron again and that should buil up another mega Mex vs PR war in summer.

gomez thrives on bein a underdog. he finsihed off gatti in a dominating performance yea gatti is past his prime but its what you do to veteran ring legends that make you the fighter you are. Gatti is more focused while i know cotto feels relaxed that is goin to be the diffference and thats y gomez will win. a tko would not surprise me. gomez may be the next big mexican star. there is no one else mexico has to depend on.

of all the upsets i can think of this year, none of the guys who were upset have been tested as much as cotto (spinks was robbed). we know completely who cotto is, and we know enough about gomez to say with enough confidence that there will be no upset

No, Gomez is not going to win, plain and simple. There will be no upset, and Cotto will cruise through this fight. What's with all this Gomez hype? The guy has 3 losses, he beat a washed up Gatti, an overrated Tackie, and that's it. Look at his resume to see a bunch of 11-3, 12-2, and 15-4 fighters, not to mention he himself has 3 losses.

Cotto on the other hand has already demolished former world champions, and guys that went on to become world champions. This won't even be a contest, I don't care how much heart this scrub has, or how much he enjoys being the underdog. There's a REASON he's always the underdog.

You will be suprised what sher determination will do. I saw Alfonso train for this fight. He is more focused than any other fighter I have seen. He truly believes that he will win. It will be a war, and only time will tell whether or not Alfonso can pull it off.

Hell, we have two Contender upsets in a row (Vera over Lee and K-9 over Ouma), why not a third, lol

But i dont want Cotto to lose, to gomez or Margarito....
I want Cotto to win every match until He fights Floyd

I want Cotto to be ranked P4P number #2 in the world....

and then I want him to lose to Floyd
