I agree, Clottey was dominating the fight. He literally took no good shots and landed at will when counter punching. He had the perfect game plan for the fight, was shutting the guy out, either would have shut him out on the cards or stopped him at some point and they say he's not doing enough "not letting his hands go". Brutal

Joe Tessitore telling us that Vera is basically a no hoper against Lee, is honesty.
Teddy Atlas telling us that the main event of a show he works for is a farce, is honesty.

Nick Charles telling us that a fight we are currently watching is boring, is being a bad commentator. Being a terrible one in fact. His job is to make it more interesting for us, not let us in on the fact the fight is boring... yes, we can tell Nick, thanks.

Yeah, I understand what you saying... they're not the best, but at least they're objective in their assessments!

I would prefer the versus guys. They are way better than the Showtimes people and less annoying than max kellerman(who doesnt know his ****, he might no some statistics and numbers, name) or Lampley who i cant suffer,( and who is also a wife-beater).Those versus guys are a breath of fresh air

I don't think too much about the Versus guys. Neither bad thoughts nor good ones. Which I guess is a good thing, in a way. They don't interfere with the fight, but they don't enhance it. I don't mind them.

He gets very into the fights and i love that. He is very passionate and he can make a boring fight exciting just from his frenzied responses. His call for Mormeck-Bell 2 was fantastic

I can take or leave the Versus guys, but I'd choose them anyday over Bob Sheridan. It's time for that fat old guy to retire. His commentary on the Phillips-Spinks fight was embarrassing.

I don't really mind the Versus commentators. Nick Charles (who also does ShoBox) and Wally Matthews. I actually found it funny when they were arguing over Yuri Foreman last night about his religious beliefs. In that he's trying to be a rabbi and restricts him from seriously hurting people and he would rather win by decision. My favorite crew is the HBO cast with Lampley, Merchant, and Steward. I try not to make a big deal about the commentators it just really comes down to the fight.

I have no problem with the Versus guys, I'm actually glad they were drilling Bob Arum for all the **** he puts on the network.

The worst boxing team was when Ferdie Pacheco and Bobby Czyz were with Showtime but HBO is the best ofcourse especially when Larry Merchant is there

NOTHING satisfys these guys. They are ALWAYS complaining and moaning about something. If they dont get the KO in the first round, they are good. Case closed.

Clottey for example, has fought on their air in the past and he has a safety first style (and he has every right to be right now because he has a title shot coming up shortly). So they ***** and complain and moan for all 5 rounds.

Then that 6 round fight starts with that prospect, but this guy doesnt have a safety first style and instead makes the fight very difficult for himself yet very entertaining... Yet they ***** and moan about THAT as well.

I mean cmon, shut these guys up already. They are annoying as hell to listen to, they state their opinions obnoxiously as if whatever they say is a fact.

I was excited for that Hatton card because the 55,000 people are gonna make for a crazy scene... but i might have to keep it up mute for that card as well. Hatton wont score the first round KO, so all im gonna hear for 12 rounds is how this lackluster performance is gonna effect his career...

                    sry for the rant

they do suck. and they wash the balls of certain fighters ALL THE TIME (ie. Tye Fields, Joshua (and his brother) Clottey, and Yuri Forman). they act as if these are the future all time greats or something.

Its not hard to find something good to say about a fighter who is paired with a fighter who is clearly not on his level (ie. forman's opponent last night).

I couldnt stand how they kept contradicting themselves and kept sucking up to foreman and clottey.

                    its annoying.

I was thinking the same thing (regarding how they will be commentating the hatton/malignaggi card)...that is going to suck...the only good thing about having the audio on for that card is hearing the great crowd of 55K people who will be cheering on hatton (and more than likely cheering malignaggi because they want hatton to beat paulie later on) and hearing the band play their song...

on a side note; after the hatton v. castillo fight and the hatton v. mayweather fight i couldnt get that damn song out of my head for like a month...

since i re-watched hatton v. mayweather again all i can hear is that damn song again..."theres only 1; ricky hatton...theres only 1 ricky hatton"...

                    haha

but seriously versus needs new commentators...they should hire me and i'd take 1/3 less of the money these guys take and more than likely do 5 times a better job.

I liked in the last Fields fight that the commentators were talking trash about the opponents Fields has faced. They know he is being fed cupcakes and I was happy they were speaking about it.

Ooops probably shouldn't have said that. Im afraid Fields could come on here and see that I posted something bad about him and repremand me. So if you guys don't see me on here for few days you know Ty made me pay for what I have said.
