its like the US of course. you're in danger as long as you associate yourself with danger. but the people that get kidnapped dont have a choice. my younger sister does missionary work by Veracruz. They've already been carjacked once and she keeps going down there. Tried to convince her to stop but she really loves the little village they help down there. Whats worse is that the people she goes with are white and blonde.

I think it depends where you lived. I spent time in Monterrey and witnessed some ****, but where I've seen the most ****ed up **** is in Matamoros where I spent half of my life. But Mexico has one of the highest kidnapping/ransom stats in the world.

ha i used to live near veracruz in xalapa
the villages there are very poor i remember some friends from around didnt even finish primaria
still xalapa is about as safe as it gets in terms of safe cities in mexico of course if u go around with gringos ur gonna get some attention
