Hopkins has fought the best for the last 10 years. When Roy Jones was in his prime knocking everybody out with ease.. Hopkins was the man who took him the distance making Roy say, "Hopkins is a MAN". James Toney, Bernard Hopkins, Michael Nunn, Hopkins, Virgil Hill represented an era of Boxing Legends. Understand that the air in Wales which Calzaghe flourished in was never as thick . Hopkins is old.. not as old as Foreman was when he knocked out Michael Moore but old enough for Calzaghe to be able to get in the same ring with him. If he was younger Calzaghe would get KTFO but since Hopkins is older he will only get beat up. Hopkins is one of the best of the best. Thats what a legend is. Glen Johnson WAS NOT at his best when he met Hopkins.
Tarver was not at his best which was never better than mediocre.

Tito was in his prime and a 4-1 favorite. He was undefeated and did perfectly fine his fights prior to Hopkins at middleweight.

ODH did struggle in one of his fights prior, so you can have that one, but still bhop is the only man to ever KO him. Winky who cares about that fight, he chose to fight bhop and lost. The smaller fighter factor we went over before. Should Marvin Hagler be discredited for his fights with Hearns, Duran and Leonard? Nope, they chose to fight him even though they made their names under middle (and if the smaller guy by only a few pounds is the better fighter, there is no reason he shouldn't be able to (as proven with Leonard/Hagler, Mayweather/ODH, etc., etc., etc.)).

Tarver was also a favorite and the only reason why people say he is no longer in his prime is because he got his ass kicked by Hopkins!

And when exactly was Glen Johnson in his prime then? He was 32-0 when Hopkins TKO'd him in the 11th. After that he never had a stretch of winning more than 4 fights in a row.

Hopkins has one of the best resumes out of any active fighter and has one of the greatest careers out of any active fighter. You can name only a few that have accomplished more or have more impressive resumes. It's clear that anything hopkins has done, you have some sort of excuse or counter for.

Why you continue to hate on Hopkins is beyond me (and you've been doing so for a very long time).

We understand you don't like him, that's cool. But to deny the man of any credit is simply being extremely biased and you're obviously not willing to admit the man has accomplished a ton (again, much more then most active fighters by far) in the sport.

Johnson was fighting far lower level fighters than Hopkins. His previous 17 opponents (Glen was only once in middleweight limit) totalled 177 wins to 267 losses. And he took the fight on very short notice, needing to make weight. He's spoken about it.

So are you implying that Glen Johnson was better than Hopkins and would have beat him in his prime?

And if we're going to go with that excuse, then Hopkins loss to Roy Jones was because hopkins had only 20-23 fights and wasn't fighting the greatest opposition either. In addition, Jones had a great Amateur career and fought in the Olympics, whereas Hopkins was serving 5 years in prison and was involved in their boxing program, which had much less skilled fighters than that seen by Jones in the Olympics and the Amateurs.

Seriously, trying to discredit his win over Johnson is silly (hopkins is, and always was, a much better fighter then Johnson)
