Cortez didn't cost Hatton the fight. The better fighter won. But Cortez did do a hore**** job of refereeing.

I'm tired of everyone complaining that Cortez didn't let Hatton fight his fight of holding and hitting. That is ILLEGAL in boxing

Waaaay to exaggerated, but he was getting pummeled with hard right hands all night, he was barely moving to the sides or moving his head. I don't think Hatton landed a solid punch all night, what a horrible fight that was unfortunately.

If Cortez was saying: STOP THROWING PUNCHES, I could see how he cost Hatton the fight

but instead he was saying: STOP HOLDING AND HITTING YOU SILLY BRIT

ON THAT NIGHT hatton had every right to be in the ring with mayweather, he was more then prepared, fought a tough fight and lost. Naturally the man wants a rematch. Does he deserve one? that is yet to be determined.
