Like mentioned before, not all fans are hardcore fans. There are/were others that only make/post threads about Morales or Marquez. Also alot of hardcore Filipino boxing fans are not members here because of the language barrier or are too poor to afford their own comp. But guaranteed they own as many leonard or hearns fight tapes as they do Pacquiao.

anyway, this is good for the Philipines. I dont see anything wrong with hyping anything they do within themselves. The country needs people to root for other than Pac.

I am aware of that. But what I was implying was that there MUST be hype for any sporting event to succeed. Drama and conflict are what draw men to sports the way women are to soap operas. And it is the promoter's job to build up that drama. What Mayan Sun was implying was that this card was overhyped to be bigger than it is because filipinos are ignorant and will buy into it when in reality it happens everywhere all year round. including that ****** card in mexico that by chance provided a stunning upset.
