And when Floyd says it finally makes cents/sense to fight, I'd say "No Tanks Floy". And go about my business with my career. Maybe even fight De La Hoya and break the record he set with Floyd.

Good post. I don't see much to argue with in this. If I were Cotto I'd still take the Floyd fight if it came along though. Mayweather's absence from boxing and general unpleasantness aren't directed at Cotto per se, so I don't think Cotto has reason to resent him. He should just have the best career he can and take it as it comes.

that's what he's doing.i think by the end of the year cotto will have three of the belts.wba,wbo,and the ibf.all he's gotta do is get gomez,margo or cintron,and his rematch vs quintana,after quintanabeats williams.

Well Cotto hasn't even been talkin about Floyd that much.

What he needs to do is take the Hatton approach and call out Mayweather after the Gomez fight. See if the news makes it to Floyd Mayweather's door and what his response it.

If Cotto were an easy fight like Hatton, that might work. Unfortunately, Cotto is on another level from Hatton that Mayweather just doesn't want a part of...

I just wrote on another thread he should call him out but shouldn't have to, if that makes sense. But post point well taken. If he keeps winnin and Floyd ain't fightin the top contender he becomes the man to beat at 147 by default. Maybe that's why he don't bother screamin for the Floyd fight as much as the fans do.
