hah maybe the fact that it was a really long sentence made it a bit confusing but I do actually think that Pavlik would win. It would be interesting to see who's jab is more dominant in the fight. But in the end Pavlik is to big.

Pavlik would fight a silverback gorilla, I have no doubt. What Top Rank allows him to do is a completely different story. This is a funny situation because Kelly Pavlik is not the sort to defer to his promotional company like other fighters. Somebody says "Pavlik" and Kelly is going to address the situation straight up.

I understand he's tired and annoyed that Winky wants to fight him now but what does he expect?

The establishment didn't take him seriously 2 minutes before he conquered the world.. Can't expect Winky to do it.. But I know Kelly is just letting the pain out. He's been discriminated against his whole professional life for where he's from, and the color of his skin. I'd be a little tired and annoyed myself.

i find it pretty damn ironic that Pavlik's hometown newspaper is called "The Vindicator"

Well to be honest, it's not like Pavlik did anything of note before he beat Miranda, and even after that victory, that was just a victory over another up-and-comer on the undercard of a WCB broadcast.

The moment he beat Taylor was the first time that he really jumped on anyone's radar... and seriously, what does he expect? He is obviously going to say, well no one believed in me, but I knew I was the real deal. But if the elite fighters went off to fight everyone who believes that they are the real deal, there would be an endless stream of Gary Locketts and Librado Andrades getting title shots. Kelly Pavlik has to realize that the contenders have to separate themselves from the pretenders, and him beating Taylor was when he did that, so he really should be able to get over this anger if he thinks about it logically for a while.

True, I wouldn't be surprised if they made this fight. Pavlik vs Calzaghe would be more interesting and exciting though.

He's a man about his business though. Whatever he feels the need to do or say seems called for in my view. Remember when Halle Berry won an Oscar?

don't just assume that pavlik will breeze through the 'rocket' lockett. gary lockett has a monster left hook and anything can happen if he connects early.
