Kessler Avoids Miranda For Mundine Shot

It appears Mikkel Kessler is not taking the path of moving up to the light heavyweight division to compete for the soon to be vacant WBA light heavyweight title. Instead, Kessler will stay at 168-pounds to pursue a rematch with Anthony Mundine, the WBA's champion at 168. [details]

I enjoyed their last fight. Mundine needs to take this if he wants to get more respect, his last few fights have been against chumps. I could see Kessler getting the edge again though, he'll be lookng to prove a point after the Calzaghe defeat

bout time mundine fought someone decent. He doesn't deserve that title in my opinion, he needs to beat someone good.

theres no doubting hes got some skill, but he needs to put himself to the test, particularly if he wants to start targeting US fights.

Will be good to get a world title fight in Australia anyway. Now Danny Green has retired I've missed out on seeing anymore decent fights here in Perth. Actually now I think about it, even when he was in action there were no decent fights here, Stipe Drews, what a joke

          Im psyched for this fight.

Should be an absolute cracker. The early rounds will be crucial.

I think it will be in the US. Lets wait and see.

How can this guy call himself a boxing writer?

Hes making fun of the fight.

And the fight will be a lot higher quality than Miranda - Kessler.

            Please give me his job.

Also he says Kessler blew away 600 000 dollars. He will make around 2 million for fighting Mundine. That is a ****load more.

And there is demand for both fighters in the USA. What did he do. Put a poll on boxingscene to get his answers.

            LMAO at the article.

I think the writer is saying Kessler could have fought Miranda for $600K whilst Mundine is busy with Soliman and then get an additional payday for fighting Mundine after he's done with Soliman.

I thought it brought up some good points, particularly the first point, in that Kessler is after belts, yet Mundine isn't even the champ, Calzaghe is.

I'm heartily sick of Mundine and my reserve of goodwill towards him has long since ran dry. The hardcore fans here in Australia are more interested in Mike Katsidis, Billy Dib and Sakio Bika. Those guys aren't standing around street corners bull****ting.

Your seeing the bad side of Mundine mate. Ask Cathy Freeman what happened. She blames the media. Choc isn't that bad of a guy, he is very gracious and giving to his fellow people.

Hes fighting Kessler. Whether you like it or not hes our most talented fighter.

                    My bad.

As far as im concerned if Kessler beats Mundine he is the champ. Calzaghe has moved up and Mundine is the 2nd best fighter in the division. Enough Said.

Its for the ring title aswell. Thats big.
