Exactly, what makes it different? Are white folks supposed to give back because of the country's past? If that is the case, we all have something coming, dont we. Especially the Mexican community. Maybe, and thats a small maybe, if hopkins would have moved down in weight to fight calzaghe it could have happened, but not at bhops natural weight.

Hopkins Thug Life

Its wrong for any race to speak in a stereo typical fashion about another race. Hopkins knows this. As much as I like Hopkins mental and physical approach to boxing. His logic doesn't extend far beyond boxing. Knowing this I don't put too much weight on his comments. He knows its wrong but rather than admit hes wrong he would rather stand by his words. He's definitely not perfect. We only need to look at when he threw down the Puerto Rican flag when he fought Tito... that was just thuggish. No logical explanation for disrespecting any countries heritage. We need to remember that Hopkins is an articulate thug with magnificent boxing skills but due to his thuggish ways by no means a role model.

Racism doesnt have to mean you down right HATE every white person...

racism is bias to a certain race (your own) or looking at another race unequally because of their skin color.

and hopkins is looking at calzaghe different because of his skin color and saying because he's WHITE he cant lose to him.

that would be considered racist.

whats BS is that if someone like pavlik said, "im not going to lose to taylor because he's black" the world would have fallen but since hopkins is black he gets away (for the most part) for saying, "im not going to lose to calzaghe because he's white".

if pavlik said that about taylor he would need to be escorted by a fleet of police to and from the arena out of the possibility of violence for his racist comment...

but hopkins gets away with it...i dont get it.

it seems like a black guy could flat out call a white guy a "cracker" or a "honkey" even in a white neighborhood but if a white guy called a black guy a "******" then it would make headlines and the white guy would probably get attacked by 10 black guys for his racist comment.
