Hatton will fight Witter eventually, but Ricky has bigger fish to fry first. Like Malignaggi, Mayweather II and possibly Pacman or De La Hoya. Hatton is the biggest payday at 140, that's why everybody wants to fight him.

Hatton fighting Floyd strictly for money is a ****ing ridiculous opinion. If Ricky was fighting just for money he would not have been crying over losing the fight. I've seen many fighters take a beating for the money in the last 30 years and those fighters walk away smiling.

Hatton is confident enough in himself to move up in weight to fight the Ring #1 P4P fighter and believe he's going to win. Ricky will also believe he's going to win the rematch.

Hatton fearing Witter is also ridiculous when he's fought and beaten better fighters already. Witter needs to shut his mouth, fight LEGITIMATE fighters sometime in the next year and wait his turn. If Junior still has the belt and adds another Ricky will fight him sometime next year.

Hatton is fighting Mayweather strictly for the Payday...NO DOUBT.

"If Junior Witter was fighting in my backyard, I'd shut the curtains," Hatton said.

Didn't he go toe-to-toe with judah? That was a great warrior like performance. As a Witter fan you should be proud.

Hatton is now in that upper echelon of prize fighters where he can pick and choose his opposition and profit hugely from it.. Ricky Hatton is no longer a fighter he is now a brand/name...

Like I've said before 55,000 are expected to turn up at Eastlands and I can guarantee no more than a 1,000 of them fans have ever heard of Lazcano... This fight could of easily been against witter and easily produced these numbers if not more and would of been worthy for PPV...

I understand what it's like to be a fan of fighter and how you feel obliged to defend their decisions, and yes I agree he's the cash cow @ 140 but in all honesty which fight is the fight that the UK fight fans wanna see???

Witter Hatton would be a true grudge match with no need for the WWE like performances as seen in Mayweather Hatton,

If Hatton was smart enough he could even get an HBO 24/7 type docu out of it and go for prime time slots on sky or even attempt BBC (Bringing Boxing back to the BBC - now that would be a repayment to his UK Fans!)... This event would be the perfect fight to concrete his Promotions Company (within the UK market), and if he beats Witter then move on to Wembley and fight Mayweather... -- But in truth thats the Scare problem stopping this fight, Hatton cannot afford to lose again if he whats that mega-money rematch with FMJ... so I'm sorry to say Hattons only gonna tread carefully between now and 2009....

Some may say Malignaggi isn't treading carefully... but with paulies recent performances I don't see him really troubling hatton...

With that said, if Hatton does stumble along the way to 2009 - Expect to see Hatton Witter come to fruit...

lol, like who? tell me which W on Fattons record is better than Witter.

except Tsyzu, who was just a bigger name...... but not a better fighter.
