Click on the link I posted and see where he grew up. That's fact. It's a soft, white-collar neighborhood.
Who gives a ****? He'd ****ing cosmically stomp a mud hole in your ass. So how does it feel that a soft ass suburban kid could do that to ya?

It makes little sense . . . why does he want so badly to be street?
Why do these white boys acting all gangsta?

      Why Smokin is a *****?

I think you know the answer.

Settle down homeboy. Lots of suburban kids could beat me in a fight.

But Hopkins constantly refers to his hard upbringing, and his naive fans refer to his being "street," having grown up in the "******," etc.

So I'm providing the facts to straighten this out.

Germantown is one of the more peaceful and affluent neighborhoods in Philadelphia. Bill Cosby is from there as well, as was Sun Ra. White collar workers outnumber blue collar workers by about 9/2. The median income is over $40,000/ year.

Crime rates are some of the lowest in the city.

I didn't grow up in the roughest "hood" either, but even I grew up in a tougher Philly neighborhood than Hopkins did, with higher crime rates and lower median income. So I can't help but laugh when he refers to his tough background: he's a middle class kid! Sure he went to prison, but anyone can do that.

He's built a false image on being "street." But it's not him. Sorry if you thought he would be too "street" for Calzaghe or anyone else, but you have the wrong guy.

I moved to Kentucky when I was 22. I never hung out downtown.

who cares, Hopkins is still as tough as nails and has a lot of courage. Hasnt showed it recently though, but he is very old after all.

Who gives a **** where he comes from exactly? All that matters is neither he or Joe C can win by talkin **** about where they're from or who they've beaten in the past. The hype is startin to really take over with fight night closin in. If they'll fight as tough as they both talk we'll see a classic title fight.
