Why is Hatton more popular than Calzaghe in the UK?

I think it is because Hatton has much better marketing men behind him.

The channels that he fights on are much bigger than the channels Calzaghe fights on.

Also, Ricky does a truly huge amount for charity so he is obviously a great man and I think British people like that sort of thing.

Ricky does more interviews on prime time television as well.

Ricky Hatton has been a World Champion for years and years, but obviously no where near as long as Joe Calzaghe so I suppose it is slightly surprising, but not when you look at the facts.
