And people say Nunn was outclassing Toney before he pulled it out. That makes me laugh every time I hear that. Toney was putting on an excellent display of his defensive abilities.

If by outclassing Toney they mean the 20-1 underdog was losing very close rounds due to inactivity, then yes Nunn outclassed Toney. Unfortunately most people think that Nunn was giving Toney a boxing lesson which simply is the furthest thing from the truth.

Like most fighters whose careers ended tragically or prematurely, McClellan is greatly overrated.

Prime Toney at middleweight/super middleweight was one of the best fighters of the 90's and one of the best pound for pound fighters as well. His power made him fun to watch and me personally enjoyed watching his brilliant defensive ability and inside fighting.

You take a fighter in Mcclellan that had no defense and would only have a puncher chance and say that he beats one of the best defensive masters in recent history? Toney has fought bigger punchers and has not only never been stopped, but he has never been out on his feet. Julian Jackson is not known as a pure boxer and he managed to out box Gerald when he stuck to his game plan. Jackson also had a weak chin and was able to take a few flush shots in their first fight. Gerald would have him moments but honestly, Toney would out class him. Too fast, too skilled, too elusive and to defensively brilliant for McClellan even on his best day. What do i have to say to that? James Toney by unanimous decision.
Thats Pretty much how i see it aswell

Toney fights with his head not his heart ,to intelligent of a fighter for McClellan whos defence was awfull both Benn & Jackson hit him flush many times
