Its funny how when the most hated man does something nice no one wants to respond but the second someone starts a hate thread so many people want to reply.
that's a very good thing to do, good for him.. like i've said before, deep down, i'm sure he's not a bad guy.. i'm sure a lot of the **** he does is for show
Exactly.......... Most ppl dont see that for some odd reason. As they say, ppl like the bad guy. $$$
I honestly think before I saw this that Floyd is actually a nice person but he tries to hard acting all this gangsta **** he does for the cameras. Props to Money May.
About time he does something good.
This is what I was talking about. Do something good with that money and not just throw it up in the air to people who probably don't even need it or deserve it.
As far as anyone doing what he has done in the ring or surpassing it? I doubt it. Floyd got real lucky with some of those tomato cans that were holding belts at the time he was moving up. He was a lucky opportunist. If some day these divisions have some tomato cans like Gatti and Baldomir, those trying to accomplish what Mayweather has, will be lucky and have some easy fights too.
What I find amusing is that most people are optimistic. They assume the good they see in people is the real them and the bad is only a small part of them, or just something they do for a reason that SLIGHTLY justifies it.
Mayweather, for promotions of a fight, will belittle his opponents. He will disrespect them, will throw gasoline on the flames that arise from his antics by going way overboard and he goes over the top with throwing money in the crowd and wearing INCREDIBLY flamboyant ring attire. He also mocks legends from years gone by, and claims to be better then he is.
That's all well and good. I don't mind it. The strange part comes into play when you realize that people think that's not really him, and that this generous guy seen in this clip really is. He's got MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of dollars. The 100,000 and some change that he's giving up is not gonna really hurt him. By any stretch. This is NOT to take away from what he's doing. He's giving back to the sport. But to assume this is the true person that he is, seems OPTIMISTIC. Chances are, other than the charitable stuff, he's an ass. No big deal, *******s are fun to hang out with sometimes.
True, charity is a great thing, in any form that it comes in. But to act as if that should be proof of him being a nice guy.... Get the **** out of here. Remember that scene from Scarface where Tony kills his former boss and then hires that big mutha****er to his enterprise. That was charity. SPARED A LIFE. I still wouldn't go so far as to call Tony Montana a nice guy. (Metaphorically or figuratively speaking)
That being said, I'm happy he can find it in heart to help out up and coming boxers and is being cool about the whole thing. It's a good look and it's a worthy cause.
Also, anyone else ever notice that he struggles with the word publicity A LOT?
he usually does **** like this, but it just never gets any attention because he doesnt make a big deal out of it, and his bad boy act usually overshadows everything good he does
I been saying he been doing **** like this for years....
He got a org. for women who have been abused
He open up a boxing gym for kids in his Hometown
He feeds families for thanksgiving
Fund the entire Golden Gloves
This dude does his part....
This is why I believe him when he tells stories like this..
That's a good way to decrease your income tax...Why pay it to the government when he can deduct it as a contribution and pay less on his income tax. (and look like a good guy)
