The best alternative to Cotto for Floyd?

Just kind of curious what people thought would be the best fight for him if he refuses to fight Cotto.

Please none of the "THE ONLY FIGHT THAT MATTERS IS COTTO!!!!" posts. I know that. I am just curious what everyone thinks the #2 fight is.

At ww , its margarito vs floyd. At 154 it 's Winky if he goes down in weight.

The way Winky looked physically when he fought an extremely competitive fight against Hopkins at 170, I SERIOUSLY doubt he can get down to 154.

I'd put money on it that Mayweather wouldn't fight any of the welterweight titlists before retirement.

i would love to see him in against mosley. to tell you the truth, i would rather see mosley/may over cotto/may. i think stylistically, it would be a hard fight than cotto. and seeing that Mosley has been in the game so long and is considered to be a legend by some, he may even contribute bigger numbers than cotto.

Shane and Mayweather was the fight I was always interested in watching. Cotto beating Shane threw a monkey wrench in the plan but something about the fight, if it never happens, will leave a huge question mark for me. Talent-skill wise, these two were the best since Pernell. Quiet a keep, out of a the welterweights, I think Shane, even at 36, would be the most difficult fight Floyd would ever have. After Miguel Cotto, Floyd should fight Shane and both of them should bounce.

I still have problems with putting Shane in the same class as Floyd or Pernell. Pernell didn't get dominated by anyone except Trinidad when he had a serious ******* problem and was getting really old. Floyd has never been even remotely dominated.

Mosley got dominated and beaten up twice, by two different fighters (my favorites!).

I thought Shane would beat Cotto, but I am still very uninformed on most fighters, and I made that call after only seeing Mosley fight Wright in their first fight. I just thought he was going to be too fast for Cotto, who I had only seen fight Judah. Not a very informed pick, but I am still trying to get a feel, and betting on fights is useful in trying to get a bigger interest in these fights.

That's what I voted for. I think Forrest has the jab that Mayweather has a tough time dealing with, as well as the size and experience that would give Mayweather some serious problems.

Then again, Calzaghe showed that size, experience and a great jab can be neutralized by a freak in the sport. Mayweather might do just that. GREAT matchup.
