Floyd is most likely only fighting once this year in a meaningless rematch with DLH. He calls himself the P4P best fighter, the creme de la creme, etc. He's wasting a year proving nothing with this event and the DLH fight.

Ali did it near the end of his career with nothing to prove. And Tyson was a sideshow anyway that needed some press after losing to Holyfield. Holyfield did it last year to help promote a meaningful match against Ibragimov.

          "Mayweather Double-Standard"

          1. Cant Fight Nobody who is his same size or smaller then him or it isnt a fair fight...
(Have to fight Bigger Opponents for the fight to be Fair...)
          2. No tune up's fights
          3. Gotta be Fighting every 4 Months..
          4. Gotta focus only on Boxing
          5. Cant fight for Money, He has to fight to proved what he already is.. and that is Number #1
          6. Anybody he fights and beats is a bum until somebody else beats them, then that's that Fighter career Achievement.
          7. You only can Compare Floyd to All Time Greats or it dont Count
          8. Floyd whole resume doesnt Count... Just only 2 years of his resume
          9. Floyd cant turn down no fight...
          10. Floyd must Fight every fighter in Boxing to proved he is Number #1

If Floyd wants to say he's the best, and continue to be recognized as the best, he should beat the best. The best challenger at his current weight class is Miguel Cotto, and Floyd is not going to fight him this year, and is acting completely uninterested period. He can rest on his laurels if he wants, and can stay regarded as the best fighter right now because of his past accomplishments(his whole resume), but he's rightfully taking heat for essentially taking a year off, and he will lose his spot(as he should) to the likes of probably Cotto or Pacquaio if they continue to rise.

i dont really care that he "wrestles", but what i find funny is how prior to floyd doing this, his little fans would cry whenever someone would call him boring and respond with **** like, "well if you dont like Floyd's style, then you dont like Boxing, go watch UFC or that WWE ****."

but now that Floyd is doing WWE, its the smartest business move he's ever made? ****outtahere with that ****. thats why no one takes his stans serious.

Which brings me back to this thread that i started on 2/20/08http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=164807

Everytime we put down a technical/defensive performance by a boxer, the response is "go watch wrestling or mma if u dont appreciate skill". Now that Floyd is participating in WWE, all of a sudden, its nothing but praise for WWE. We even have a few posters who all of a sudden, think wrestling is now REAL because bigshow bled when Floyd hit him! LOL.

Honest to god, i think that if Floyd publically announces that he is gay tomorrow, his fanboys will say "well he's accomplished everything there is to do in the sport of boxing, why not try something new"

Ali did it with a real world champion wrestler , it wasnt play acting ,, from memory the wrestler got off the ground once and Ali landed a jab and a glancing right and after that no way was the wrestler getting of the floor from then on , just kicking out and Ali walking around him kicking his leg , it was a stalemate , wrestler wins on the ground and Ali KOs him if he stands up , it was shown on free to air television at the time .
