That was a decent win actually, I agree. OK, I could easily swap Tarver with Johnson. If I remember correctly, Johnson was unbeaten at the time. Since then he's lost another 10 times, I think.

It's between Tarver and Johnson. I picked Johnson because Hopkins actually fought a real fight instead of his normal 6 punch per round ****.

        Definitely. Hopkins schooled him.

Glen Johnson should have one loss.

I think Calzaghe beats all those guys, any time in the last five years. I'm not sure Hopkins beats Kessler.

How does hopkins beat Calzaghe?.......Convincingly, and don't be swayed into believing that a K.O is impossible.

move well, control tempo (calzaghe's workrate), counter often and effectively and get on inside and use dirty tactics = UD

The only way Hopkins has any chance of out boxing Calzaghe is by being dirty. If he can't head butt or elbow his way to a significant injury on Calzaghe without the ref seeing it, he'll be out boxed and lose by wide decision. I like Hopkins and I like Calzaghe but Hopkins is past his prime and
Calzaghe has the style that has always given Hopkins fits. Because of this and Joe's work rate he should beat Hopkins easilly with Hopkins blaming everyone but himself. Look how Jermain Taylor beat Hopkins, by simply out working him for enough rounds whereas Hopkins couldn't catch Jermain in the later rounds to make-up the deficit. Calzaghe will keep a murderous workrate for all 12 rounds and won't slow up like Taylor did, He's also been fighting much more powerful fighters like Lacy and Kessler so Hopkins power shouldn't be a factor. As I've said in earlier replies, this fight is pretty easy to project a winner in but then again it is boxing so you just never know!!!

I think that Bernard Hopkins path to victory is alot like Hillary Clintons path to the nomination...next to impossible.

Bernard has got to land his counter right and tie up...he will need to make John Ruiz proud in this fight if he is to have any shot.

I believe Joe is going to do what he does in all his fights (possibly even more) which willbe after a few rounds to really step up the work rate...force Bernard to fight at a pace he has never fought at before.

His big wins against Tito, Oscar and Tarver were all at very slow paces...his loses against Taylor were not fast paced fights but they looked like warp speed compared to what Hopkins was used too.

Taylor didnt even have to land anything significant to be in the fight and ultimately get the nod...expect Joe to be twice as active as Jermain only this time when rounds 9-12 come around expect close to 100 punches a round from Joe...I see little chance for Bernard.

Its a question of how Joe does it not if he can do it.
