Money talks though, and imagine the income generated with Calzaghe vs Pavlik at 168......

Not even that, you're talking about Pavlik creating a legacy, what could possibly be better than Joe Calzaghe on your resume? Given the current climate, JC is the biggest fight for Pav, and the same applies in reverse. Pavlik can just fight his mandatories, but isn't that what got Joe into this mess in the first place?

Calzaghe is a very good fighter, but once Lampley called him special on HBO, now nobody can ever beat him ever. He has a ton of flaws, is technically terrible, and can get hit a lot.

he has never been in there with an opponent who can exploit more then one of this flaws. Hopkins most certainly can and i think he outclasses Calzaghe early. His age might catch up with him, but Hopkins is a freak, he is ageless.

Also, Calzaghe hasnt fought an opponent with a jab in yeeeeeeears. Nor has he fought a puncher of late. Lacy was a puncher, ill give him that, but Lacy is not anywhere close to the elite level like Hopkins and Pavlik are.

I give Calzaghe all the credit for what he has done so far, but he is still much more of a mystery then people think. ill leave it at that

It's true. Don't get me wrong, Kelly Pavlik is great, I have mad respect for the guy, but it's not too difficult to see flaws that could easily be exploited by a fighter such as Joe Calzaghe. Against Taylor (second fight) Kelly often looked flat-footed, one-dimensional, clumsy and uncomfortable. If that particular version of Kelly came anywhere near Joe he would get embarrassed. Again, no disrespect to Kelly intended. He just wouldn't stand much of a chance, in my opinion.
