Ray I got a lot of respect for you as well dude, but my original post was a sarcastic one. How many times do we hear Witter call out Hatton day in and day out and so far Hatton keeps ignoring him and does not accept the fight, it's getting annoying when the guy keeps running his mouth all the time. If Hatton really wanted this fight he should just agree to it and fight the man and show who's the better boxer, clearly he is ducking him and refusing to fight him for whatever reason. Witter keeps crying on and on about why Hatton won't fight him, either he just moves on or wait until Hatton decides to fight him, what more can be said about this subject? it's ridiculous man.

        • Hatton VS Paulie would be a waste of time.

          Cotto exposed him

That kswizzy guy in another thread was saying that Witter was a more exciting fighter than Hatton. I was wondering what his favourite three Witter fights were. Considering he is a Canadian who never had the option of watching Witter prior to him winning the WBC strap.

I know I'm in Canada but I've only been in the country for four years and I was watching Witter on Sky since before the Judah fight.

I wont go as far as to say Witter is more exciting but Hatton also had his fair share of boring fights when he was waiting to fight Tsyzu, He went stale and was de-motivated just like Witter was douring the lynes/Kotelnik fights.

I'm really missing the point some of you guys are making. Damn....He is only trying to prove to the boxing world he is the guy at 140 and Hatton wont let that be done. Whenever someone goes out on the limb to call you out and is willing to take a pay cut...he really trying to prove a point. Hatton is saying he doesnt want to fight because he dont want to give him a big payday. He also stated that he is disrespecting him in the media....If I'm not mistakened..didnt Hatton do the same thing to Mayweather? So whats the big deal?? Hatton is really making himself look bad.
I agree with this writer. Furthermore, it's rare for a fighter to need to heap so much scorn on another top fighter, without a fight actually being arranged. There's something more in this than Hatton just not wanting to give Witter a "payday". "At the end of the day" (as the English like to say) fighters don't have such bitter vendettas against another guy in the same business, just trying to make a decent living. This looks as if Hatton has appointed himself as the arbiter-in-chief of whether Witter can live, or just "exist" (not to say "subsist").

His comments take every last surviving shred of pseudo-decency from the fight-game itself. That Witter has just made the offer to fight for no pay for himself, should solve Hatton's "reservations". Let's see if it does.

TRUE that boxing is more and more just a business. BUT, it succeeds because WE, it's supporters, ease ourselves into believing that it's just a sport, and ...well...... we're sportsmen. That gives us, and IT, dignity. NO one would like to admit that what he/she really likes is "blood and guts" strewn all around the ring. Boxing, more correctly, is a close lineal descendant of the Roman gladiators, who fought to kill, and for their lives.

A Hatton-Witter fight would sell BIG in Britain, and the British want to see this fight. I believe that Witter could win, not that he WILL, just "could". Hatton had no legit reason (except money) going up in weight against Mayweather, and paid the penalty, referee helping. Some of the best fighters in boxing history, at their regular weights, have ruled their divisions dominantly, but came apart when going up one division. Some can do it, others can't. Hattons 2 worst fights were when he went to welterweight. If he wasn't such a gluttonous pig, he'd be a lightweight.

I feel that Malignaggi will give him oodles of trouble, and perhaps win. He's very clever, although even he himself is not now at his best. Cotto took a lot out of him, and he has been taking more punches in his post-Cotto fights than pre-Cotto. Just my opinion.IO append this in the hope that I won't be subjected to vulgar abuse from Hatton fans.

                • If Witter will fight Hatton for "free" then why did he turn down the contract that he was offered to fight Hatton?

Bitter Witter needs to STFU and fight some legit competition since Hatton's year is already booked up with Lazcano and Malignaggi. Next year Ricky has several options better than Witter, like Mayweather, Pacman and Torres.

Junior Bitter need to deal with the fact that Hatton is a superstar who can fight anybody he wants and that's why every fighter wants to fight Ricky, while Bitter remains a nobody, but a hero only to Hatton haters on message boards.

The problem is People here in england only talk about hatton to Witter, When they interview him he couldnt even get through the interview without being asked 30 odd question about the Hatton fight, That isnt Witter's fault.. Witter is trying to move on but how his he suppose to fight the best when the number one guy(hatton)..Number 3 guy(Paulie M wouldnt go near him? Go look at the top 10 at 140..Witter has fought and beaten about 4 of them, He cant just be fighting mandatories and rematching fighter he has already beaten...I dont even mind if Hatton doesnt fight Witter but please dont come out with silly excuses and i dont expect hatton or boxing fans for that matter to make excuses..What is wrong is wrong, Had tsyzu not give hatton a chance to fight him hatton wouldnt have been the man at 140 today.

exactly....... one rule for one, and another rule for the Golden Girl Vicky.

Hatton struggled to be motivated for uninspiring fights....... but Witter should be?

                      double standards.
