    maybe someone like Pacman.

But only because what other sports to the Phillipines compete at an international level.

Team sports are the patriotic sports. You have a gathering of fellow countrymen battling for the common cause. Not just one.

I don't know. I've only trained and sparred but I always felt when the time came (if I ever feel like dedicating myself completely) to have a professional fight that I would be fighting for just more than myself.
I feel like I would be representing my family, my heritage, and where I'm from.

Look at the number of fighters who carry flags into the ring. I'm pretty sure they feel as if they are fighting for their country.

I guess so. But in team sports you feel much more a part of the action. You use the word 'we'

'We lost'.....even though you didn't do ****. You just watched it.

You can't do that in boxing. 'We lost to Floyd Mayweather'...lol. Ricky Hatton lost to Floyd Mayweather and Ricky Hatton alone.

That said most of the fighters I follow are Brits. So I'm chatting ****. But i'm not nearly as patriotic about boxing as I am about football, Rugby, Cricket.

We are doing **** at all those sports though. So it's times like this that our media gets patriotic about boxing.

I would go a step further and ban the American national anthem period.

Good move. The pre fight stuff can stay classy now so let's hope the fight stays classy too.

In Britain, we actually take the piss out of ourselves (if you know what that term means?), it's a national thing to do. Brits don't understand how Yanks take their nation/anthem so seriously or whatever.
