It was not just a small portion tho, btw i could not give a **** if they booed the usa anthem or the wales anthem but what i do hate is when idiots booed and shooted in the minute silence in the remembrance Munich air accident (1960) at Old Trafford a few months ago. Now that **** is disrespectful even if the players were from man u.Comment

Glad to see a fellow Vet put this **** in perspective for these couch monkeys! Lack of honor can still get the next man hurt real bad. Ask a few Brits that attended the PBF Hatton fight. They didnt get away that ****! There were over 40 Soldiers from various combat units attending the fight for free that took offense to that display of a lack of class by some *******s and handled it accordingly. This was in front of LVPD. Only report that got written that night was probably at the local ER. So if any of you Welsh gentlemen want to try that same form of disrespect, don't! its not worth it. PTSD is real. So good move by the promoters to avoid an inevitable conflict.Maybe national anthems shouldn't be played at sporting events then, I served 3 tours in Iraq and during one of those tours I had 2 British soldiers attached to my unit. I never really cared about the national anthem of my own country much less Britain's. But after that kid got killed and many of my friend's, Both mean a lot to me now. Don't get me wrong, I don't think we should have been there any damn way but anyway, the anthems are symbolic. I'd probably kick someone's 'arse' if they were to boo the British national anthem as well as the American. For me personally, now when I hear any country's national anthem I think about the soldiers that fought for that country past and present.Comment

Nah the referee certainly helped Floyd in that one. Sure Cortez didn't throw the punch that did the damage but he did prevent Hatton from doing any damage early on and by taking a point was instrumental in throwing Hatton off his gameplan. It wasn't all the ref but it wasn't none of the ref either.
Er... that didn't happen. Nobody booed. It was not just a small portion tho, btw i could not give a **** if they booed the usa anthem or the wales anthem but what i do hate is when idiots booed and shooted in the minute silence in the remembrance Munich air accident (1960) at Old Trafford a few months ago. Fans at Sunday's Manchester derby immaculately observed a minute's silence to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Munich air crash.
Of course City spoiled the day by winning but most die-hard City supporters (particularly ones enthusiastic enough to manage to land away tickets at the Swamp) are aware that among the people killed in the Munich air disaster in 1958 was legendary City goalkeeper Frank Swift and among the survivors was former City player Sir Matt Busby.
There were fears that the memorial would be spoiled by classless morons but those fears never materialized. Much to the chagrin of United's less charitable fans.Comment

I was watching the match on TV and there was no booing, and the papers were full of praise for the well behaved Manchester City fans. The papers were annoyed because they wanted to be able to moralise over the "thugs" booing, and it didn't happen!
Plus my mate is the mascot for Manchester City and he told me there was no booing or whistling or anything.
Here is more evidence
Taken from United's fansiteWe were convincingly and deservedly beaten by a side who looked so deflated in the past few weeks that you thought they would not be winning until April. Simply I can't find excuses, especially as City fans behaved in an exemplary manner throughout the game.
Also from Youtube
No boos, whistles or chanting, the silence was observed impeccably.Comment

We are just better. I don't know why.
It's like Gerald Ford said before the British/American war, "We could **** up those cats overseas three times a day for the rest of our lives...I have a dream...hoody hoo, that's the code for the killers." - spoken during the 2007 NBA Finals.Comment

They should play the winner's anthem at the end of the fight. There would be nothing better than to see Hopkins waiving the red, white, and blue with the national anthem playing while Calzaghe is on the ground unconscious...According to a report in the South Wales Echo, the signing of the national anthems for both sides have been banned from the upcoming Bernard Hopkins-Joe Calzaghe showdown on April 19 in Las Vegas. Thousands of Welsh fans are making the trip across the ocean to support Calzaghe quest to win a title in his second weight division. [details]Comment

Way to brag about getting in fights on the weekends. There would be no KOing of Americans because you would all have multiple gunshot wounds. As far as the anthems not being played, fine, leave it alone, the fight is being produced by a private entity with no tie to the USA except for the taxes it pays the government and the fans it entertains. If the people running this fight feel that some fans might be meatheads and fight, therefore disrupting the event and drawing negative press, they have the right to do whatever the **** they want, including not playing either countrymen's national anthem. Drop this ****** subject already.Man this is funny as ****, all these americans they boo our athem knock them out hahahahaha, use would get ****ing ****d, hattons fans took the piss in las vegas, i aint a big fan of the welsh but their lads can go when they need to, and i would have my money on them before some ***** americans, you need to remember alot of these cardiff lads are involved in punch ups every saturday at the football, while youse americans are in a punch up once in a bluemoon
